Default What are you guys doing with Hiller?

I have MAF, Hiller, and Montoya as my goalies. We can keep 12 and Hiller was a defeinite last year, but now I am scared due to his vertigo. What do you guys think about him going forward?

    Thanks

Me too. I briefly considered trading him and Holtby for Bryzgalov but decided against it. I think he will be fine. Vertigo is not known to end hockey players' careers.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

sitting and waiting and hoping for the best.

I do think he recovers in time for the season to start. I am not too worried yet, talk to me in Sept if he still isnt able to play.

I keep finding people that also suffer from vertigo saying that it's something that there is really no known cure for. Sometimes the symptoms subside for long stretches. Sometimes they return. Most people that deal with this say that they've continued to deal with it off and on for years. That doesn't mean this will be the case with Hiller, but the all round uncertainty regarding how to move this forward and progress would concern me.

His value is at an all time low though so either try to acquire him for cheap or sit tight like everyone else and hope for the best.

i had a friend who had vertigo and he went to some spe******t who told him the crystals in his ears where out of alignment and gave him exercises and what not. Irregardless of my speculation the vertigo is resolved and he has never had it back. So although i laughed at him internally, it seemed to work for him, so i wont dispute the results.

I need to decide by Friday, damn this is a tough call....

dropping him leaves me with MAF and then I could keep Hartnell or Ladd...not that exciting I know...I cant see keeping MOntoya either way right?

Trust me, it was all i could do to not laugh at him when he was trying to explain it to me. I almost asked him how many times did he have to say that so he could say it with a straight face. But guess he believed it and i couldnt argue with the results.

can you keep both MAF and Hiller? What other goalies would you be able to get in the draft? if the pickings will be slim, i think holding onto Hiller regardless of the risk is better than keeping Hartnell or Ladd. If you can only keep one, i would go with MAF as he is much less risk.

Don't forget that a guy like Montoya should be easy to pick up in the draft He is a nice sleeper in Long Island. I'd keep Hiller. The risk is worth it.

One thing to consider is by keeping Hiller, you need to target another tender in the draft just in case.

heard the same a few days ago, that's good news...I'm hoping they just decided to take it easy and careful with their star goalie (see Sidney Crosby)

The only other player of any value that I could keep would be Kronwall. No idea on the draft, depends on who keeps who. It is a 14 team keeper, everyone keeps 12 so not sure.

Basically I keep Hiller, Hartnell, or Kronwall is my decision.

Would help to see the rest of your roster, your planned keepers, and league settings.
