Default Which Goalie would you take? Salak, Hackett or John/Chris Gibson

Hey I am in 16 team dynasty league, we are doing are 2011 prospect draft, on sunday, we are allowed to pick any prospects that were not drafted in the previous drafts or a 2011 prospect. I am wondering if it is a better Idea to pick a non 2011 draft prospect someone like Salak and Hackett or go with a 2011 prospect such as gibson. My goalies are Luongo and Lehtonen, I don't have any goalie prospects, goalie stats are: W/L/SV/SV%/GAA/SHO. What do you guys think any advice would be great.

This is an interesting situation, but if I had to pick a goalie I'd go with a non 2011 prospect like Hackett or Salak. I voted for Hackett because his path to the NHL as a starting goalie is presumably is going to be a lot smoother. Kuemper is the only goalie standing in his way and he could possibly compete for the starting job in a few years but Hackett should have the starting job in two years or three (maybe). Backstrom is aging and clearly isn't who he used to be, with Crawford he's a young goalie and has a lot of future ahead of him. He plays for one of the best hockey teams in the league and I don't think Salak will start over him in very many situations going forward. Gibson is a project, I prefer Chris of the two but they both need time and seasoning in junior and in the minors.

All things considered, Matt Hackett is the best choice here.

Voted Salak and agree with dmvincent about taking a non-2011 goaltender.

The Gibson's are far from sure things of becoming starters

Yeah I agree with dmvincent about taking one of Salak or Hackett. I think I might take Salak here. He's 3 years ahead of the game and has a good shot to be Crawfords backup next year on a really good Chicago team. Crawfords contract is for 3 more years and is relatively inexpensive which gives the Hawks a bit of versatility.

Mind you whichever one of the two you pick they're gonna be a sick goalie one day.

Thats just my two cents for whatever its worth lol.

I am just worried about Crawford he is an amazing goalie and is ahead of Salak do you guys think that Salk will be able to replace Crawford in a few years as the starter or do you think he will just be a good backup

definitely salak, i think florida made a huge mistake letting him go. while crawford had a great rookie year i believe salak is more talented then him and should retake the starter duties within 1-3 years for chicago.

btw, i would also choose hackett over the gibsons

Going with the rest here, Salak is the way to go.
