My McBain (or Carlson) for grabner +
I have a pretty good returning D core. Bogosian, McBain, Calson, Green, and White, with ellis waiting in the minors. So, I started trolling for some help up front. Someone thought I was brand new, and would jump at Marchand for Carlson AND a pick because of the playoffs. But, I've been offered Grabner and a couple picks for him, and when I turned it down, he said I could go with McBain...who I like, just not as much as Carlson. I think I may be able to pry as much as OEL, and a 2nd, along with Grabner for Carlson or Mcbain, but I'm not sure if I should bite on Grabner after just one good year.

I'm not as sold on Grabner as others you might find on these forums... I personally wouldn't do that trade. IF you could get him to add in OEL that would change things in my opinion.. But it depends if OEL can sit on your prospect list for awhile.
I assume your pool is points-only. I don't think Grabner offers much value in this format. I agree with maybe moving a dman for forward help but you should seek max value.

Your defence is your strength so, it is wise to try and leverage it for upgrades in other areas. Your goalies need upgrading as well tho. Maybe even more so than the forwards.
How many players is a full roster in your league?
we count G,A,PPG,+-,SOG,PM for skaters.
Not really worried about Goal, we only play one, Niemi isn't bad, but I also expect Thomas to be available when I make my pick. Vokoun, Mason, and Remier will also become available, but I wouldn't take them with my 1st.

Yes agreed. Niemi isn't bad. Thing is, you would want to roll with an awesome goalie not one that is "not bad".
