    Default Viktor Fasth

A lot of teams seem to be interested in Viktor Fasth. He's a Swedish goalie, who played well in the WC. But really, I don't know much about him.

Anyways, the reason I'm starting a thread on him, is because there's only around 5 and a half hours left for him to sign a contract apparently. As well, he's looking for a one way contract.

    Should be interesting...

I'm curious about that time limit. Time remaining on an out clause in his Swedish contract?

Not sure, it's just from waht i read. I don't know the ins and outs of teh CBA very well.

    btw, he's apparently staying.

Highly-coveted free agent goalie Viktor Fasth, MVP @ Worlds, will stay another year in Sweden, according to agent Joe Resnick via Expressen.

In the transfer agreement between NHL and Swedish Ice-Hockey Federation (and with other European Ice-Hockey Federations that have an agreement with NHL) the deadline for the transfer of players signed to contracts is June 15th. For the players drafted in the current year's Entry Draft the deadline is August 15th.

He says that he had a bunch of two-way contract offers on the table and turned them all down because he needed a one-way contract since he's about to have a baby with his wife. The NHL dream is still alive, but at this time, AIK was just the best fit for him.
