Now TSN is reporting it. Sucks being a Bobrovsky owner now.....

Confirmed by the Flyers organization as well.

Clackson, 2012 third round pick, and a conditional pick, which I'm assuming has to do with the Flyers ability to actually sign Bryz.

FINALLY! they go after a legit goalie.

will be interesting to see how many years he signs for.

Looks like Carter and/or Carle is on their way out.

Am told by source that Bryzgalov contract demands with Coyotes were off the charts

    DarrenDreger Darren Dreger
Bryzgalov wants to be paid as a top player...not just a top goalie. Demands too rich for Yotes.

Hopefully the idea of being on a contender will lower his demands.

Maybe he goes the Hossa route and signs for one year before hitting the open market for the longer contract???

The player-demanding-more-money thing is something departing players & teams leak so that it doesn't alienate fans (IMO). It is not necessarily reality.

Owners: The guy wanted more money than we can spend.
Player: The owners couldn't meet my demands.

Reality: Player simply doesn't want to play for this team any more.

please, please, please, oh please.....sign with the flyers! i hate to lose carle or carter, but you have to give to get (hey, kinda like in fantasy hockey). would rather carle go, obviously (horrendous post-season). but would be ok if it was carter (of course who is going to bang hartnell's wife if he leaves). maybe bryz?! but i digress....

ok, so lets hear the odds of the flyers siging bryz now that they have his rights...i think they are pretty good....90% (not sure holmgren and co. would risk it if they didnt feel confident)

he could have put up those demands to price himself out of Phx, especially with their financial situation and uncertainty of where he will be playing next year.

I am sure we will find out soon what his demands are for a contender will be.

i believe Clackson was a RFA and a contract needed to be moved to bring in Bryz. Not a big loss, and why it only looks like they gave up a lot for him.

i was saying this all along. flyers would go big and go for either bryzgalov/vokoun. no chance would they half-ass it again and try for a nabokov, or rest their hopes on a kid like schneider/bernier. good on the flyers for realizing their weakness and improving it.

    oh...and say goodbye to carter

Okay - Finally Philly woll have a legite goalie. I have no doubt he will sign for about $5m for 4 ot 5 years.

Now that the goalie decision has been made when will the next shoe drop. Who will be the beneficiaries of the move necessary to make room for Bryzgalov. Will it be Carter? Hartnell, Versteeg, or Carle that might be moved to help make some cap space. Leighton will clearly be waived and play in the AHL if not picked up. Zheredev is history.

One should not underestimate the value of what Philly can get that is not bring cap hits, especially for Carter. Draft picks and prospects that are either without contracts or are a year or two away from the NHL to avoid any cap hits coming to Philly in the deal. Let the speculation begin about what Philly will pick up in the deal and who will the trading partner be.

How does all this impact on the Richards competition?
