    Default Josh Harding? 2011 potential

Just curious what you guys think this potential for 2011 is.
He's a UFA as of July, does he get picked up by a team? See any starts in 2011?

I shall guess that he lands in Montreal.

    No reason.
    Just a musical-chairs change-of-pace guess.
Carey Price will get 65 starts.
Josh Harding would get 17 stars.

Harding is definitely not a #1 goalie - but I think he'll find work as a limited back-up.

I'd love to see him in Montreal. He has lots of potential and would be a great young backup, assuming he's 100% (that was a nasty injury last year) - I could see him easily steal some games, like he did for the Wild a few years back when Backstrom was yet to settle in as the de facto no 1.

He'll end up somewhere like Montreal or Ottawa to play every now and then when the #1 horse has to rest.

Maybe not though, teams may be afraid that he may be an injury risk, and you usually want your backup to be reliable and healthy if he gets called upon.

Yea, I think that's the biggest thing is a lot of teams will be looking for a reliable backup. See Carolina, Ottawa, possibly Toronto, and others.

If you factor in the talent avail via trades this offseason the market is cluttered with a lot of goalies but there aren't that many avail jobs. Most places that need a backup can either resign their guy from last yr or promote a cheap internal option.

I'm not even confident Harding finds a new home due to all his health issues.

I think he'll find a spot. He still has the talent to get his career back on track.

Agreed, lots of talent, very quick glove hand, and lots of net coverage given his size. I think he'll find work easily and is even the kind of guy who can come in an steal a starter's job. The only caveat, of course, is whether that horrible injury is going to affect his play going forward, which obviously might scare off teams.

I agree he has the talent. It's a shame he didn't get in to play a game at the end if the season though. It must be tough to go to UFA after being on the IR for an entire season.

He will get offers. Just not sure he will get the money he will expect. This might mean he is not signed right away. Detroit, Carolina, Montreal, Colorado, Minnesota, Florida (if they don't resign Vokoun), TB, Ottawa, San Jose, and Calgary, to name a few that will be open to an quality and economical goalie.
