Parenteau is very under-rated, he makes things happen every shift. Will be curious to see how close he can be to a ppg player in a full season.
See Barrie called back up, 1 assist last night.

Don't much about goalie prospects and so when i looked up goalie starters for tonight i went who when i saw colorados starting goalie Sami ....
Looked him up on goalie post and it says he was injured and hasn't played since JAN. anyone got insight and should he be on radars for the near futren with varly's injury history
Sami Aittokallio played a great game in his first start in Los Angeles. He should definitely be on your radar, however he plays a similar style to Varlamov, whereas the other goalie highly touted in the organization, Calvin Pickard, plays more like Giguere in that he's very positionally sound, and is more of a blocking goalie, but doesn't have as quick of reflexes/athleticism to make some of the crazy explosive saves that Varly can make.
The Avs are fairly deep in goaltending prospects, and actually one of Aittokallio or Pickard could be dangled as part of a trade that would get the team a piece that they desperately need on the back end, or to upgrade on the wing.

Barrie has been playing great on this team, probably the best, or second best defecemen all year for the Avs this year, which isn't saying much.
Also, Elliott has been looking really good lately, especially in his own zone. Once he gets comfortable defensively it'll be interesting to see how his offense flourishes. Also next season it'll be interesting to see if the team tries to re-unite Siemens and Elliott in training camp...

Hey, have you heard anything about Varlamov's injury progress?

Jones or MacKinnon, Jones or MacKinnon.
Answer: SETH JONES
With the recent reorganization, I think the management will be pressured into getting some results soon. As much as I can see that Jones is a great fit, his development may take some time. In the best case scenario, Jones will follow a development path similar to Pronger's, which means it will take a good five years to become dominant.
I wonder if the Avs could get an established and defensively reliable defenseman for Statsny. If so, I could see them moving him and drafting MacKinnon 1st overall. MacKinnon could become an impact player after one year in the NHL as Stamkos did (best case scenario).
I know the hard consensus is Jones, but I kinda am thinking the same thing. Especially when they still have Barrie, Elliot, and I guess Johnson to develop.. And yet they still are part of the core of their D.. I'm also wondering if they could make some moves to make a fit for Mac or Drouin
