    Default Karri Ramo?

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on Karri Ramo's chances of being the backup in Montreal next year or if he'll stay over in the KHL?

I own him in a 30 team keeper pool w/ 30 man rosters and 25 man keeper lists, and am debating keeping him versus a depth defenceman or someone else guaranteed to at least be on an NHL roster. Goalies are extremely scarce though, and my other 'tenders are Bobrovsky, Anderson, and Biron so I'm not particularly solid in net.

Hey man welcome to the boards. love the name haha

I don't know much about the KHL or Karri Ramo.
I will say this though, it looks like Ramo is having himself some pretty success in the KHL (33-6-4, .925%, 1.97 GAA). I'm not sure if he'd want to come back to North America just to sit on the bench for Price.

You might be better off asking this question in the fantasy mailbag for goaltending questions. Justin Goldman is the resident expert for goaltender questions, he might have a better idea of the situation. Here's the link:

Kari Ramo just signed a two-year extension with Avangard Omsk. No word on whether or not there's an NHL out clause. My gut feeling, though, is that he stays there.

If most goalies in your league are taken, and you are allowed to sign undrafted players without a current NHL contract, you might want to look at Victor Fasth. The 28 year old Swede toiled in the Swedish minors until last season, when he came out of nowhere to win goalie of the year, with a save percentage .001 short of Alex Salak (an even better potential replacement to Ramo if available) and .002 short of new Leaf Mark Owuya (best in the league), but with 10 more games played. Apparently this got 5 NHL teams, including the Rangers and Lightning, interested. He's taken that form to the IIHF WC, blanking out hosts Austria (23 shots), then stopping 30 out of 32 in the Swede's 6-2 route of Brian Burke's US. He's completely under the radar.

If you want to scout Fasth first, the Swedes play Canada this Monday, 2PM on TSN.
Rebulding in two lifetime keepers, squads to follow ...
