I'm guessing Bryz never spent anytime here in the summer...nice beach shot 50 miles north of the Peg!

Really???? No chance this happens. This isn't a Nabokov situation. This is a goalie in his prime. There are at least a few NHL teams ready to open open up their wallet for him.

not sure what to make of all this but which teams can we realistically see him going to?

-Tampa (yeah Roloson is having a very solid playoffs, but is he really a long term option in Tampa? At 40+, I don't think so. I'm sure they would much rather go into next season with Bryz backstopping them longterm, then with Roloson for 1 maybe 2 seasons, no matter how far he takes them in the playoffs)
-Florida (Vokun is UFA. Markstrom isn't quite ready yet, and the jury is still out on him, even though he one of the top ranked goalie prospects. Plenty of cap room to throw out a nice contract offer to him).
-Philly (If the Bruins bounce the Flyers this round, I think we finally see Philly make a move for a legitimate tender. Of course they would have to move out a big salary to make this happen).
-Toronto (not likely, they will probably give the spot to Reimer. But they have some money to spend, and him and Burke have history)
-Colorado (Young roster, but lots of great young talent for him to grow with. Very big need in between the pipes. Never been to Colorado before, but I think they have somewhat cold winters. But i'm sure the city of Denver is a heck of alot more desirable then Winnipeg.
-Phoenix (There is still the possibility of the team staying in Phoenix. And if they do, I think this is the most likely of scenarios.

Bryzgalov and Vokun are the only legitimate #1 goalie UFA's this summer. They should both have no problem finding a job in a city of their liking.

It was a completely classless comment.....period!

Comments like this from professional athletes are a big deal in the sense that they will forever be judged by them (and should be).

bryz has been known to be sort of a comic in the past with interviews... while he's probably being honest about not wanting to move to the 'peg, some of his comments may be a bit tongue in cheek.. so i don't think people should take it too personally. if you read the quoted response of whether he would sign a new contract if the team he does respond "Probably not, .."

so to some degree it still may be undetermined, there maybe some situations where he would still consider it. (namely his salary)

and as with most current coyotes i think he is hopeful the team stays put. no one really knows his opinion except him... but i can see how his comments could have been taken some what out of context to give a more controversial article.

i think the devils proved gretzky right with all their antics this year. starting with signing kovalchuk for so much money that you cant even ice a full team.

Umm, not sure you can say that just yet. This was the first time the Devils missed the playoffs since 95-96 and have 2 Stanley Cups since then. They made some horrible decisions last year, but really turned it on down the stretch. I'm not a Devils fan by any means, but you have to respect a team that is as competitive as they are year-in-year-out.

Wishful thinking. Philly is doomed to repeat their goaltending mistakes until the end of time.

Rotfl. Come on now 4T. This is the offseason when the Flyers finally address the problem between the pipes (fingers crossed).

And it's also the year the Leafs make the playoffs right?

P.S. Is that kool-aid in your hand?

Ed Snider came out last night and said the Flyers WILL target a #1 goalie this summer. When he speaks out like that it always gets done. Might not be Bryzgalov but it will be a big upgrade from the recent swiss cheese.

So it is kool-aid then? Just kiddin man. The Flyers would be scary if they landed a true number 1 though.

Ya, but they have to go after the "right" #1 goalie. Remember when they went with Vanbiesbrouck rather than Joseph? That was a Cup or two thrown away for the Flyers in that era.
