Nice timing. I've been working on a piece on him the past few hours. It will be posted shortly and I'll toss the link up !
Hey Goldman,
I noticed that Calgary signed Ortio to a contract a little while back. What's your take on this kid? I don't know anything outside of what he did at the Juniors and his stat line from TPS and Finland 2.
Thanks!

Totally spaced posting this:

Basically, there's no way I DON'T see Ortio playing for Abbotsford next year. The question, therefore, is how many games and what is his role? Well, that all depends on Leland Irving. Does Irving jump up to the NHL and back up Kiprusoff, or does he stay in Abbotsford?? Wel, that all depends on whether or not the Flames choose to try and re-sign Karlsson for one more year. I think they should, and I also think that Irving is much better off playing in front of Ortio and trying to overcome a strong rookie than sitting on the bench for 65 games.
But to be honest, I think the odds are better that Irving graduates and becomes Kipper's new backup. And that's actually good news for Ortio.
Enjoy!
