    Default a small insignificant trade

    League in sig.
I was idly chatting with an OGM during our slow draft.
Long story short, a deal is formed up. I made an offer and he has come back with an addition.
My Draisaitl, DeBrincat, Strome and Sanheim for
His McDavid, A. Svechnikov and N. Hague.

Anyone have an opinion either way?

I've offered significantly more for McDavid and been turned down, so I'd say it's a win lol

I don't like it. Drai and DBR should easily cover McDavid on points. Unless you just really want McDavid I wouldn't do it. I also believe Philly will eventually deal from their backend to add, that should open up opportunities for Sanheim.

It's pretty fair both ways, but I love the idea of getting McDavid and taking a chance that Svechnikov becomes as (or more) valuable than DeBrincat to turn this into a win for you. There's also the chance that Strome continues to pop with Kane, Sanheim turns into PHI #1 D and Svechnikov doesn't evolve into as good a fantasy option causing you to lose the deal, but your loaded roster gives you plenty of room for error while adding the best player. Although, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that in your setup Draisaitl is potentially as valuable as McDavid just because of the FOW.

Take it and run, thats what i would do

You get the best player in mcdavid which is always fun to have. I like svechnikov for his multi cat potential.

Drai is good but i like having mcdavid more. Plus trade value is way higher for mcdavid.

Sucks to lose debrincat but svech is also good.

Rest are fillers where you can probably draft same type or similar in short an long term

Tough to say no to the McDavid side when the payment is in the realm of "reasonable" instead of "overpayment".

Hit the nail on the head as usual Steve. Draisaitl actually slightly outscored McDavid in my setup. McD is slightly ahead in points per game. I think the risk is acceptable. Svechnikov has some interesting potential in my setup.

With your set up... I think it's an overpay.

Might be one of the times you walk away. Giving up the 2nd, 3rd best players..
If Strome keeps progressing with Chi... maybe even the 4th best.

I would take McDavid. You're pretty deep by the looks of it and that gives me confidence that the holes you make to bring in McDavid can be filled without too much trouble.

If you're not giving up the 2nd and 3rd best players, you probably aren't getting McDavid.

I like it for both sides. Fair trade.

I think this sums it up. It's a fair trade, for McDavid. I dont think this is a disgusting overpay that will make me feel bad about myself later on. I can absorb the holes with Svech, Tkachuk and my prospect pool which has Steel and Poehling primed for big roles on their teams this year. I feel comfortable with the risk. I had a great prospect draft and I feel like my team is as deep as it is ever going to be, so this is the moment.
I am going to pull the trigger. Thanks for your insights gentlemen. REP on the way.

I'd take the deal and get McDavid. It looks like Sanheim and Strome aren't even starters with your current roster, and you've got a TON of good prospects and depth in your system. I'm also a huge fan of Svechnikov, and I think he's definitely going to end up being more valuable than DeBrincat. This is one of those situations where your roster is so deep you can afford to pay a little extra just to make sure you get the best player in the deal.
