    Default Accept or Reject?

This grew out of an earlier trade that I posted a few days ago.

    Give:
    Necas, Mantha, Ferraro

    Get:
    Acciari, Zegras, Pionk

I don't care about Mantha or Acciari, so it's two keepers (Necas and Ferraro) for two keepers (Zegras and Pionk). The thing that's holding me up is the inclusion of Necas, but it's also possible that I'm just attached to him after watching his development this season.

Are you out of it this season? I would want Necas and Mantha down the stretch if you are still competing.

Sorry, I meant to include that. I'm out. The team I'm trading with is still in contention.

Are they keepers? I don't know if I would do this deal. Can picks be involved?

I dont think I make the deal. I would not want to be giving up Necas.
Also, I think you could get more out of the other GM. This trade has potential to be a wash in future years but this year its a big win for the OGM.

Necas and Ferraro are currently keepers for me. I'd be replacing them with Zegras and Pionk if I took the trade. I could ask for picks, but he's super high on Zegras, so I don't think he'd be willing to include any (he originally wanted Zibanejad, Mantha, and Ferraro for Zegras some picks).

I don't mind it being a big win for him this season, but yeah, I feel like giving up Necas for Zegras is just trading the present version of a guy for the future version.

maybe im the minority but i think current recent bias is playing in here, Zegras is s top notch prospect, on a team that is desperate for some scoring.

I countered with Drake Batherson (who I picked up off waivers this morning with the last place waiver position) in place of Necas and he accepted that. I'm feeling pretty good right now.

I was going to say hold on the original deal due to Necas AND Mantha.

But I would have taken the second offer like you did. Well done!

you trading 3 contributors for 2....but i think Zegras will be best player here and maybe as early as next year and Pionk is very underrated D...i think i make that deal...can you get a nice pick instead of Acciari? or another decent prospect?

    i make this trade
How is it current bias when both players are current and similar in age? Trevor Zegras is coming off the past World Juniors as the MVP, putting up one of the most productive numbers in recent memory while Martin Necas is having a 69 point prorated season as a follow up to a 46 point prorated rookie campaign. Marty also has had some pretty impressive WJC numbers himself. One year scoring 11 points in 7 games with a much weaker Swiss team. Nacos also plays with better players. So the combination of the player's internal talent and external talent around him has me liking him more.

Now take Necas (the more NHL proven player of the two) and Trevor Zegras out of it, it then comes down to Anthony Mantha and Mario Ferraro for Noel Acciari and Neal Pionk. I still would take the Mantha and Ferraro side. Mantha is a year removed from a near point-per-game season albeit in 43 games. Since joining the Washington Capitals, he has 2 goals and 3 points in 2 games. Keep in mind this is a power house by comparison to the blackhole offensive void that is the team formerly known as the Detroit RedWings. We now know them as the DeadThings. The talent and upside is there for a high profile power forward, now give him a capable scoring team laden with star talent and a capable PP, things are looking better than ever. Don't be shocked when he's healthy (and thus lies the problem), if he can somehow break the band-aid boy label, he could be a 30+ goal, 70+ point stud with the outside chance of breaking a point-per-game with a team that can actually get things done.

Looking at Neal Pionk he's the benefactor of being the only capable offensive component (outside of Josh Morrissey) on the back end of a very shallow offensive Winnipeg Jets blueline. As both a Jets fan and season ticket holder who watches a lot of games, he is a player designed by his environment of not having to compete with talented dmen beyond Morrissey right now. And even then that's not his competition but his partner based on one being a lefty and the other being a righty. Once a FA signing or trade happens (because the Jets will look to improve their offence on the back end) and guys like the Ville Heinolas and Declan Chisholm's graduate, pieces of that pie will be taken away. He's a good defenseman, but IMO there is room for improvement.

Then finally it comes down to Mario Ferraro who I see being a solid complete defenseman with the outlook of getting to 80 percent of Neal Pionk's production as a peak. So it comes down to Noel Acciari a career bottom sixer who's career year was an outlier season for a power forward who has had 3 60+ point seasons prorated over 82 game seasons prior to this year (where he's struggled), and that changes now that he's a Cap.

No way do I do this deal unless you see Trevor Zegras' peaking as a 100+ point forward because that's where his production needs to get to for this deal to favour the Zegras end, because I see Necas' peak at 80+.

In the end I see it as 3 note worthy players for 2. And right now I like the top 2 note worthy on the Necas end more. That can change, but with what Nacos is showing (and he's only going to get better), and how good the Carolina Hurricanes are, and how effective that PP is, combined with the situation that Mantha finds himself in, I can't root against those two. And then finally there is Ferraro. Safe bet is on the Martin Necas end.
