Where of where does he get drafted this year? 4th round? 5th?

Anyone have details on why they weren't able to reach an agreement or was it just that his play hasn't developed well enough to earn a contract?

he had told the club in march he wasn't going to sign with them. the Panthers wanted to sign him. He was a hot topic 2nd round pick post draft

I can see him going late in the 2nd round or early in the 3rd. He's a good prospect and much further ahead in development. He can jump straight to the AHL and be an injury call-up.

The Panthers definitely wanted to sign him. No official word why he was pissed at them but I'm guessing he got caught in that whole Dallon/Rowe/Dallon debacle they had.

I am thinking someone in the second round will draft him. Someone like Pittsburgh or Chicago or San Jose... someone who has a window that is slowly closing and they might need someone step in earlier then most prospects available in the 2nd round will be able to.

I think he'll be picked before his original draft spot (38). Time matters and he's already turning pro, plus it's not like he lacks upside.

Ottawa did that with a goalie years ago.

It would definitely make sense from an asset management perspective. They've already invested in his development to some degree, so that could very well be worth another draft pick to them.

Pretty sure McKenzie said FLA was offering him around the league for a 3rd round pick and they obviously had no takers. No way he goes in the 2nd.

I'm actually interested in the scoop. I think he's a good prospect but if other GMs think he's the devil for not signing with the Panthers then yeah he'll obviously get picked later. Could be a mid-round steal.

If he goes before the 2nd half of the 4th round, I would be very surprised. I think there's a higher chance of him not getting re-drafted then there is of him going earlier than he did 2 years ago.

TWO are starting goalies.

Thank you for the list. It proves my point. There are about 5 players in that list that had any fantasy value at all. 2 of those guys are goaltenders which are complete voodoo and not comparable to Mascherin. 2 of the remaining 3 have been arrested. The last one if Matthew Lombardi. That's it in the 54 years of the NHL entry draft.
