I think these ones are OK for them, although definitely not game changers. The others (so most of them) are just bad... So yeah, you're absolutely right about that.

Lehner + Legwand for Colin White was a very solid trade. I hated it as a Sabres fan.

Ottawa gave up an oft-injured goalie that was going nowhere and a contract dump and got a blue-chip prospect out of it.

I don't know. There are a few on there they had to do (and lose, ie. Spezza), and probably 90% of teams have a poor list, but:
    - If Ryan didn't get hurt every year that deal wouldn't look AS bad.
    - Someone was going to get duped into Conacher, it just happened to be OTT but they needed to move a goalie anyway.
    - Methot helped them.
    - The Condon one was silly since he was on waivers like 3 weeks before / could have been had for free
    - I still don't like the Dahlen for Burrows one
    - The Zibanejad was a big loss though, especially because they gave up a 2nd for some reason/just to save money because Melnyk is cheap
    - You have to give them props for getting a 2nd out of Lazar, who they weren't going to protect anyway, and it is not like CGY is using him well anyway

You are also missing when they traded a 3rd to move up ONE spot in the first round to grab the guy they wanted, and the Devils still grabbed the player they were targeting anyway

That was a list of all the trades since 2012, not my list of bad ones.

Agreed, that this was a bright spot on the record of Ottawa's trades

Turris doesn't quite fit what the Av's have been asking for in regards to Duchene but who knows.

I'd take it as a rumour rather than 'breaking news'.

If you're going to consider Lehner being traded for Colin White as a win, then you also have to consider Turris being traded for Tarasenko as a massive loss.

Turris to Mtl for Chucky makes so much sense - Mtl is in desperate need of a Centre & Chucky has played both W and C. I doubt these two teams would do anything to help each other out though. If Nsh is kicking tires on Duchene to add their C depth - they should be willing to look at Turris as a cheaper option.

Can't say I disagree that he'll get 5.5m. Seems about the right price for him.

With Brown & White both needing contracts in 3yrs, I think that will influence them in not wanting to lock in Turris long term and bury the youth coming up.
