Watched most of the game yesterday... the Panthers were so focused on bullying the Knights after the whistles that they forgot to actually play the game.
Vegas didn't flinch, they remained cool-headed and in control. Hague laughing at Tkachuk and Bennett was priceless.
    Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.

I think this is an interesting Final. I like both teams, but am bummed that my Oilers couldn't make it past Vegas, but the better TEAM won. I think hockey fans are in for some great June (don't get me started about hockey being played this late!) hockey.

Listening to Marek talk about this series just showed how out of touch he is with the American market and how much he overestimates how much American sports fan watch hockey. Now I like Marek and listen to him daily but he was out to lunch on this take. He talked about Eichel and Tkachuk being Americans and how it might draw in the casual American fan because they are two emerging American superstars. Ummm- No. Hockey in the United States is a regional sport and the overwhelming majority of Americans do not watch the Finals if their team is not involved. It doesn't matter that Eichel and Tkachuk, who are not very popular player, are Americans. I'd be very surprised if the ratings were not dismal in the States for this series.

Marek and EF are just puppets for the NHL now. There's very little "independent" reporters now for the NHL. Overdrive is pretty grounded in terms of critiquing the NHL, Kyper a bit, as much as I hate Steve Dangle he does a good job at calling them out. Seravalli is good. But Marek and EF are just puppets now.

Something I forgot about, Foley (Vegas owner) said he'd win a cup in the first 6yrs of owning a team and this is yr 6.

The way you worded this sentence was very much like how Marek and EF do. Except they would have said "Marek and EF are just puppets now" about 3 more times.

They repeat themselves sooooo much. It drives me nuts.

With a ton of background noise randomly. They are funded by a huge corporation and still do things like they are a startup.

Yeah the repetition and background noise have made them pretty much unlistenable at this point.

I completely forgot Kessel was on Vegas. Guy can be a 3 time Stanley Cup Champion. And I remembered Quick was on the team but he can also become a 3x Stanley Cup Champion. Crazy I forgot about them.

Nolan Patrick is on the roster too. Lehner after his yrs can be a Stanley Cup Champion.

What a sequence on the 2nd goal. Florida buzzing around but can't score. No idea how they don't call the cross check on Tkachuk. Seconds later it's 2-0 Vegas.

If Vegas wins the SC - will it not be the fourth time in a row when a star player comes back just in time for the playoffs, making the roster worth significantly more than the salary cap? I'm not complaining, it just seems like a trend is forming... it's not about finding the right structure of goaltending, defense, offense, star players, depth, etc when the way to win is by outspending your opponents.

Damn, Vegas looks great. Florida looks lost. Get back to the basics Cats or this could be over soon.

I hate Matthew Tkachuk, and there's nothing more I'd love to see than watch him swallow and choke on his mouthpiece that he chews, but that hit on Eichel was a good, clean hit.

Ya that hit was incredibly clean.

There's something about how Eichel used to skate in Buffalo where you know it's instantly him, he's not quite there again, but man last night was the closest I think I've seen to that Eichel in a long time.
