Anaheim wins the Stanley Cup!

Well deserved victory tonight and congratulations to the Anaheim Ducks are in order. They completely deserve this after having a great playoffs and truly showing the heart and determination necessary to win the Cup. Scott Niedermayer walked away with not only his 4th Stanley Cup in 12 years, but also the Conn Smythe trophy. Way to go Scotty, you\'ll always be a Devil to me. On a side note I thought it was hilarious that Bettman got boo\'d by the Anaheim fans. See even people here in CA, where hockey is usually behind football, basketball,baseball, and sometimes even soccer, know that Bettman is a total ass and is ruining our game. Anyway, I\'ve said my peace. Congrats once again to the Ducks, hopefully I\'ll be able to go to the inevitable parade!

Anaheim deserved to beat Ottawa, but being a Canucks fan, I\'m sort of choked that Burkie went and got himself a cup.

On a personal note, I got a little teary when I saw Carol Neidermayer in the stands. She used to (and maybe still does) run a trading card shop in Cranbrook that I used to hang out in after school while Scott & Rob were off playing junior. Sweetest lady in the world, and I\'m glad that she was around to see her boys win one together.

And a well deserved Conn Smythe for Scotty, too.

Think it\'s great for the amount of first timers, only guy with a ring was S.Niedermeyer. Always nice to see a fresh crop getting their name on the cup especially guys like Teemu, Marchant, May and yes Pronger to. What`s even better is those last 2 games pulled me from 2 points behind the leader to a 5 point lead to win the playoff pool woooooooohooooooo lol.

The Ducks saved their best hockey for last. They didn\'t play that well in the first two rounds, played a bit better vs. the Red Wings, but they were a different team in the finals. The Ducks I watched against the Canucks was not the team that dismembered the Senators in the finals.

It was sure nice to see Selanne hoist the cup, though.
