Wow....a player for player deal. So rare to see that now.

Meh, a minor deal for both sides obviously which is simply designed to try and shake up the atmosphere a little. Cammallerri is a more offensive player than Jokinen and considering the Oilers are looking for offense from their bottom six, this move MAY help create some of that. I am not overly optimistic but from the Oilers stand point, it's worth a shot and they have nothing to lose here.

Jokinen can think the game, and knows where to be positionally, but he's lost a step and struggles to keep up to get to the right spots, and that's from watching a generally slower Oiler team thru his 15 games. He didn't offer any offense what so ever. So to think he's going to step in and play on the LAK top line is way off imo. Cammy is more of a shooter and might be a tad quicker on his toes, although his all around game is not what JJ's is, Cammy might find a spot on PP2 as a trigger, and JJ will be given a chance in LA bottom 6 imo.

What are the chances Cammalleri plays with McDavid and they move Draisatl to 2nd line center?

No clue really but if I had to guess, I'd say he's bound for the bottom six and possibly PP2 if he's lucky.

He may get a crack but hard to imagine it lasts. When he gets a shot he'll have to make it count. Almost certainly won't be on PP1 no matter what. Lucky if he gets Pp2 time.

I'd snagged Jokinen as a value pick in a cap league, one of those picks where half the league goes "Noooo I had him in my queue" - what a let down he's been.

    14 Team H2H Cap
    G A DPTS FOW SOG STP H+B | W SV SV% GAA

    C: Scheifele, Stamkos (rw), Tavares
    LW: Gaudreau, Giroux (c/rw), Labanc(rw)
RW: Atkinson, Thompson (c), Keller (lw), Glendening (c)
D: Klingberg, Gostisbehere, Dumba, Krug (50%), Trouba, McNabb, Gudas
    G: Holtby, Fleury, Markstrom

    FARM NOTABLES:
F: Bokk, A Thomas, Kaprizov, Dorofeyev, Mikheyev
D: Dalhin, Beaudin, Dunn, Kylington, Harley

I know selling high isn't easy in a cap league but did you at least entertain the idea when many in your league were hoping to land Jokinen?

It was during the draft, and obviously looking back now I wish I had. But at the time, I simply smirked, patted myself on the back, and moved on.

    Sigh.

Like I said it's tough to buy low and sell high in cap leagues so I don't blame you for this. If you sell Jokinen then you have to find a different productive guy that also fits in your budget. Not easy to pull off.

It's funny, I drafted Cammalleri in one of my deeper cap leagues...dropped him when I had cap issues and now thanks to injuries, I snagged Cammy again, hoping he'll get a little bump in Edmonton.
