Overlooked that. But still super early to be done with a divisional team.

    Good catch

I missed it. Why was that a 7 inning game? Due to rain i'm assuming but didn't hear that.

8-0 Sox - still in the first. Jays off to a flying start. Stripling didn't have it from the first ball he threw.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

With the Manoah issue, yesterday was by far less than ideal. They used 8pitchers last night.

Twins are asking for a "pre-arbitration MLBer" and 2 top 100 prospects for Berrios. So that for the Jays be who...Biggio+2 top prospects? Big asking price for a pitcher you'd have for 2021+2022 and he's been very vocal about heading to free agency to set the pitchers new price market. I don't know if Berrios would re-sign with the Jays, but I guess that's what the MLB scouts are for.

Biggio+2 top prospects for 5-8games this yr plus 25-30games next yr is a lot.

There's other options other than Berrios that could be had cheaper. Guys like Jon Gray or Danny Duffy shouldnt be nearly that expensive and could be just as good.

They need to find a solid closer. Someone like Richard Rodriguez shouldnt be too expensive (hopefully) and is still controllable for a few years, even though he's on the older side. Craig Kimbrel's name has been out there and the Cubs are sellers, but the price is probably steep for his services. Taylor Rogers from Minny would be attractive too.

One last thing on their wish list, or should be, is an actual 3B. Im not really sure who's shopping a 3B (Cubs again maybe??) but man, there's a big hole at the hot corner and Cavan Biggio isn't the answer.

I wasn't expecting Berrios to be that high. But makes sense, he's the top SP on the market.

    Wish list in order:
    SP
    Closer
    RP
    3B

That order. RP is dependent on Merryweather and how confident they are in him coming back good. The SP trumps closer in my mind because I want a SP with term since Stripling, Matz, and Ray are UFAs this fall and Toronto's starters would be Ryu, Manoah, and ..... not a whole lot to plan on. Pearson would get a pretty clear lane to SP status next yr if they don't add.

Shi Davidi has said the way things are right now, the Jays won't be sellers, but depending what happens between now and Friday, it might change how big of a buyer they are.

I think this is wrong. I know they're only like 5 games back, and a couple of RP arms and they could be there. But I think you can't do trades to praise Montoyo. He's the reason why they are where they are and giving him arms to use would almost be gifting bad behaviour.

Everything depends on price, but the Jays large needs seem to be something they tackle in the offseason. Like 3B long term, catcher, SP (according to Shi) so really seems like they'll do something like they did last yr. Some arms, nothing that ruins their future, but nothing that really changes much in the ways of a long playoff run.

If your SP can't go past 6 innings consistently when they start, especially with the garbage bullpen they know they have, their SP isn't good enough. Plain and simple.
