Quite possible. But I dont see them spending on a guy to back up Lenny. A vet on a one year deal.

Personally, if I am an NHL GM I am checking in with MIN on Kahkonen because it really looks like they have no plans to keep him around and that could be a quality grab for someone. I still cant believe the Kraken passed on him. They'll just trade Soucy for another 4th round pick, what a dud that Expansion Draft will be when history makes its judgement.

You dont have to live here. A big steaming pile of crap served up on a platter for $650 million. Seattle Tanks would have been a much more accurate mascot.

Connor Bedard is well worth tanking a few years.

How many starts does Laurent Brossoit receive as the backup: 25? 30?

Surely it doesn’t look like a 1A / 1B situation in Vegas anymore.

I think you're right in the ballpark. Barring injury, I would see Brossoit right in the 25-30 range.

Bit of an oversimplification but one way to look at is look at their contracts:

Lehner at 5 mil and Brossoit at 2.3,

Brossoit's contract counts for 32% of the team's goalie cap hit which if he got the same share of the workload would be 26 games.
Again, I know this is an oversimplification and there are many other factors at play, but I think it gives a good baseline for an estimate in some cases, especially when both contracts are relatively recent.

I see Lehner as a top 5, right in the small crop after Vasilevskiy.

I think signing broissot at 2.3 m further solidifies that, and I’m confused by those that suggest otherwise. They went out and signed a 28 year old career backup with OK numbers. Lehner is their guy, and Vegas is going to be a top team again for at least the next couple years.

I have Lehner top 5 as well. Brossoit was a very good backup last year, I played him a lot in the one league I had him, and he should do well enough in Vegas.

I agree with this. I know Lehner was a disappointment to owners last season but he still had a .913 SV% with a 2.29 GAA in the 19 games he started.

Flower going to Chicago has given me a tough choice now to keep one of Lehner or Shesterkin. I like Lehner’s team and division and tandem versus Shesterkin, but if I don’t keep the kid I may never have him again… might be time to throw down the top 5 list… or a top 7 since we can arguable agree that Vas & Helly are top dogs.
    10 Team H2H Points (Keep 1C, 2W, 2D, 1G, & 1 non-goalie):
G,A,+/-, PIM, PPG, SHG, GWG, OTG, FOWs, Hits, Blks, Maj, Mis, (bonus scoring for D-men makes them comparable to Wing)
    Wins, Saves, GA, Shutouts

    18 Man Roster (3 IR slots) Daily Start: 2C, 4W, 4D, 2G

    C: Zibanejad, Thomas, Tavares
W: Stutzle, Robertson, Connor, Buchnevich, McCann
D: Makar, McAvoy, Josi, Theodore, Matheson, Harley
G: Georgiev, Binnington, Kochetkov, Andersen (IR)

Can you trade one? That’s a tough choice.

Tell me about it! There only 9 other GMs and we can only keep 1 goalie (we all must keep a G)… so most already have a Tier 1 G. I am in talks with the Grubauer and Price owner (they have become the weakest GMs in nets - except the dude that has Hart… homer holding hope). I am calling him a Santa Claus GM “HO-HO-HO”,

i would keep shesterkin no doubt in my mind. if you have a 25-year old star on an ascending team in any position you keep him.

if you can trade lehner for something great but if you cannot nbd. it would take a significant offer for me to trade shesterkin in order to keep lehner
