Well two games in and a terrible start so let’s throw the lines in a blender and see what falls out. Today’s practice lines...

    Hall-Hischier-Gusev
    Bratt-Zajac-palms
    Simmonds-Hughes-Coleman
    Wood-roooney-Hayden
    Boqvist-Zacha - extras

Hearing also wood went into the boards hard in practice and being looked at but was still on ice for remaining of practice

Ouch these combos in my mind look really bad.

These line combos can't be nearly as bad as whatever the combos were for the last game against the Sabres

Those lines really are ugly. Seems too early toss everything in the blender despite all the goals against so far.

How much rope does Hynes have left? The Devils started the season with 2 strong periods and have gone sharply downhill since. I'm still baffled at Zacha being scratched last night, he really hadn't been playing poorly at all and is one of their top penalty-killers. Naturally the first 2 goals against last night were on the power-play.

They are a mess right now. As I was watching the game last night I thought Hynes might be getting fired soon. Their PP was so frustrating to watch. Bad passing and turnovers. And it seems like Schneider often plays well and then gives up 3 goals in a period. Probably just a small sample size. But as an owner of multiple Devils in several leagues, they are lackluster bunch right now.

Unfortunately wa snot able to watch last night or tonight’s game but looks like lines shifted again

Zacha is back in the lineup with Hughes and Simmonds
Gusev is with Rooney and bratt on 4th line

I think it might take a few more games to get it right but it will connect. I think Hynes will have atleast this season to put it together. Don’t forget they changed up atleast 5 core players on this team this summer. Will take some time to adjust

You have to think that Hynes is feeling the heat right now.

I’m not a Devils fan but oh my. What is going on with this team? That blown lead...yuck. I’ve not watched any games. Is it the D or Schneider or both? How has Hughes looked? No points yet but does he look out of place? Hey PK, what exactly would you say you do here?

There's not really anyway to say that a goalie giving up 6 is playing well, but Schneider has not been the problem from what I've seen. Their D and structure is just atrocious.

Hynes again scratches Zacha on Tuesday and Minnesota scored 6 seconds into their first power-play. At this point I wonder if Shero and Hynes are shown the door together.

Domingue is on IR with a LBI and the Devils recalled Cormier from the ECHL rather than Schneider or Senn from Binghamton.

Schneider has been absolutely awful in the AHL so far. 0-4, 5.03 GAA, .829 SV%

Detroit should trade for Hall's negotiating rights after the season to increase their odds of winning.
