Well this sucks. My cousin got my brother and me tickets to the game on Saturday and I was excited to see Pettersson play live. Thanks a lot Kotkaniemi

Can a Canuck fan verify... has Demko has officially been called up?
Yahoo! removed his "NA" tag sometime last night - and it is really grinding my gears because my roster won't allow moves since Demko is in my NA spot. (League rules include that spot).

On CapFriendly, I do see that McKenna was put on waivers.
So I would expect there would be a corresponding goalie promotion.
But then... I would've thought that would be risky for VAN to roster Demko for a game against Toronto - eek. That could be a confidence-shatterer.
Why not just wait for the team to return home on Thurs Jan10 for ARI???
Are they really going to fly Demko out to Toronto, just to come back home?

Just wondering if they (Yahoo!) might correct that 'NA" since I'd assume Demko won't start until Jan 10th, at earliest.

    ^Thanks.
(NB. "This afternoon" for us East-Coasters. Though, if that twitter feed is correct, then Yahoo! still jumped the gun on pulling his "NA" status this morning.)

fantrax did the same thing yesterday by removing his 'minor's tag.

It was interesting to read today (from Friedman's 30 thoughts) that Vancouver should look at locking up Jake Markstrom on an extension. I do agree that Markstrom has certainly earned it, but one has to wonder about Demko and how this would affect him and his progression within the organization.

I lock up Markstrom without question and let Demko just marinate some more, their are no guarantees with tenders he could be the next Price or the next Bernier but what I have seen this year is that Markstrom can be a #1.

If Vancouver somehow lucks out and wins the lottery for the #1 Overall pick...

Quinn Hughes needs to introduce the teams selection.

No way he could do that without getting choked up.

Man that would be something. Even if they get one of the top 2 picks which is still doubtful they should trade up to get Hughes.

They don't have the assets in the cupboard to afford that kind of move. I don't think. I just can't see it.
Anywhere outside of the top 2. I think they take Byram if he's available.
If they draft 3rd. I think that's who they take.
If he's gone at their pick... they'll take one of the American's.
They love their US born players & this top 10 is stacked with them

That's way too young. First I've heard as I'm out of the country. Always enjoyed his takes on tsn 1040.

I still can't believe it. I'm going to mention him in Friday's Ramblings. I'll miss his Athletties (the Provies before that). The Power Hour with Halford & Brough on TSN 1040 was must-listen radio as well.
