Sorry for the lack of updates this weekend. I was attending Battlefield 7, for those of you who follow pro/am MMA, watching a friend finish his fight with a KO in 1:09 of the first round to push his record to 5-2!

Will have some updates sometime today.

Terrible news as Dan Hamhuis suffered his 4th concussion of his young career. After his last concussion Hamhuis talked about considering retirement if his long term health was threatened by the problem. This could be terrible news as Hamhuis is incredibly underrated and solid as a rock in a top 4 role. Hopefully he'll be back for playoffs but none of that will be known until the day he's ready. Doesn't sound promising if he's already been as concerned as he has prior to the latest setback.

Latest news from AV is that Hammy is feeling much better today and will be re-evaluated. Don't get hopes up, though, as sometimes the effects can take a few days to kick in. I'd rather hear this news than something else, though!

Game time tonight at 5pm pacific as Vancouver travels to Nashville.

-Vancouver hasn't managed to score more than two goals against Pekka Rinne this year. The Canucks always seem to struggle against the stellar defense of this team and it's always a pleasure to watch Weber battle our stars.

-I'd HATE to meet Nashville in the playoffs. They match up so well against Van.

-Samuelsson and Glass are still out.

    -No new news on Hamhuis

-Vancouver is 2-0 on it's road trip so far, looking to make it 3-0.

-Lines look to stay the same as they were against Columbus.

-Look to Chris Higgins to continue his hot streak on the second line, after posting two goals last game.

    -Luongo is starting.

-Chris Tanev draws back into the lineup in place of Dan Hamhuis.

gonna be a good game Ryan... Gonna be a huge test for playoff type games for Nashville!

I hope we can continue our way against the nucks

Great game last night, though I feel for L.A. having lost Kopitar. That said, what a statement for the President's Trophy clincher! Absolutely shutting them down in the 3rd.

As an aside, any word yet on Tanev? That was a nasty hit from Clifford.

Another aside, gotta love how the 'nucks are leading in so many categories and will be relatively healthy going in to the playoffs. Looking forward to a great run....lots to be optimistic about that this is the year!

Only thing being released on Tanev is "UBI" surprise, surprise. Concussion is my guess, but just as easily a shoulder or neck injury.

-Yann Sauve has been recalled in place of Tanev. No word on Hamhuis.

-Canucks claimed the President's Trophy for the first time in history with a 3-1 win over LA.

-Daniel Sedin took a monsterous hit from Doughty on the Canuck's first goal of the game. He came back and played the next shift.

-Hank went pointless while Danny had 2, putting at the 100 point plateau. Hank is still down by one point on Martin St Louis

-Luongo was terrific. He's looking incredible heading into the playoffs.

-Cory Schneider gets the nod against Edmonton on Saturday night.

-It's possible that Edler could get into a game before the playoffs. Good sign for the Canucks.

Dan Hamhuis attended last night's game. Great news. Please be back for the playoffs.

Alex Edler is inching closer everyday. Possible that he gets in a couple of games before the end of the season, but my preference would be to wait. Yea, they want him in game shape, but I'll take the extra week of rest and rehab over that.

Last nights game was a stinker, and is exactly what I expected. The words "over" and "hung" come to mind, not necessarily in that order. Hard to get pumped up for a game like that, though Cory Schneider was not happy with the loss.

Yann Suave was terrible last night. Zero confidence and it shows. I'm sure he'll play better in later years as he grows more accustomed, but oh wow does he have a long way to go.

Aaron Rome through a couple of big, vintage hip checks last night. One sent Ladislav Smid spinning a cartwheel. Smid skated back to the bench with a huge smile on his face, but he wasn't quite as happy right after picking himself up off the ice. Rome is trying to make a statement what with Alberts and Edler close to returning. He wants to play in the playoffs.

Good thoughts on the game RR. Malhotra also attended the game too according to the HNIC crew but he asked to have some privacy and not be on cameras. That should be a nice morale boost for the team.

Also noticed Sauve's gaffes...one of them I could've sworn I saw him bump Schneider on one of the goals after letting the pass sneak right by him. Oh well.

Also just thought I'd point out that Mason Raymond actually looked great last night. Nice to see him play with some confidence for once, he was all over the ice and finished with 6 SOG. S'funny cuz I wouldn't have expected him to succeed in a 3rd line C role but he looked like he's really determined to make it work.

Edit: Just thought I'd note too, Schneider was quite impressive for the most part last night...just a couple of squeaky goals that found holes. Its too bad because he looked great making some really key stops when the team hung him out to dry.

Great point! Thanks for that. I meant to mention Raymond but forgot. He was taking the puck to the net for a change, and it's what he needs to do. Raymond is funny. He needs those big changes to motivate him. He gets so used to doing the same old thing that he really needs a good wake-up call.

Nice to hear Manny was in the building, I definitely missed that. Hope to god he's ok, selfishly and for his sake.

If it were up to me I'd have them split the remaining games, meaning Schneids would see the start VS Minnesota on Thursday. Since it's not, I believe it's all up to Lou. If he tells management he wants to go in to the playoffs with as many starts as he can, they'll let him. The energy level is where they want it, so now it's up to Luongo and how he wants to prepare. I don't see the point in risking an injury so my guess would be two for Lou and the one for Schneider, but I'll update as I know.
