He definitely didn't join the team at any point for this road trip. I haven't heard anything positive, but nothing negative as well. I'd play it safe with another two weeks at a maximum. I wouldn't be counting on him for a quick return, especially with the way the team is playing. He isn't practicing with the team, but he did skate on his own this morning. Still, there is no timetable for his return.
Salo back tonight and looks like Bieksa back next week after the mini-break.
Edit: Just heard on Team 1040 that Edler was skating today and looking good for early April return guarding set-backs.

Oh man, just tuned into the game as Henrik scored that go-ahead goal...watching the Sedins + Burrows play is such a treat after a long day of studying.
Goalies: If I'm pickin em you best be sittin em!
Great game tonight against Colorado!
-Vancouver becomes the first team to clinch a division title with 103 points.
-Schneider was fantastic once again, stopping 27 of 29 shots, and posting his fifth consecutive win. Schneider is up to 14 wins in 19 games started this season.
-Salo returned and played typical steady hockey. He is such a calming presence and a player you can always count on.
-Raymond is low on confidence and trying to make the perfect shot. Hopefully he can score a couple big goals to up that confidence before the playoffs.
-Samuelsson was frustrating to watch once again. He was responsible for screwing up a 3 on 2 rush with kesler and Raymond by making an errant pass across the ice to no one, resulting in no shots on net off the rush. All I can say is Argggghhh.
-Malhotra took a deflected puck off the face, resulting in a large cut above the eye. He didn't return to the game, but I'm assuming it's simply precautionary.
-Tanev continues a stellar rookie season. What a hidden gem. He'll replace Salo's calming presence next year.
-The Sedin's took over the game in the third with some fantastic play. Daniel could have added another goal, wringing one off the post early in the game. He made a great play in the third to his brother for the game winning goal. Henrik had a beauty off a shot on the empty net from his own zone to seal the deal.
-Dan Hamhuis continues to step up offensively with Edler and Bieksa out. He posted 1 assist, was a plus-3 and had 4 SOG. He has 4 points in his last 5 and ate up almost 24 minutes of ice-time tonight.
Great win and AV's 400th of his career.
Good point on Salo, Ryan. I felt for the guy after the 1st period when he looked like he'd be wearing the goat horns for the penalty he took (which was scored on as we know) and then the 2nd goal that went in off his skate. But then, as you described, he settles back in and played an excellent 2 periods thereafter.
I hadn't really thought about Tanev replacing Sammi's presence but I think you're on to something there. It may take a couple of years, but I think the offensive ability is there too. He's made some excellent stretch passes and the odd effective rush. He has been a beauty of a find, sort of like Burrows getting scouted out of the ECHL, no assets lost and blowing away all expectations.
Viktor Oreskovich has been recalled... again. Seems like AV is missing the grittyness that Glass provides. Tambellini doesn't really fit on a 4th line and Oreskovich brings the opposite of what Tamby does... grit.
Hey Ryan, thought I'd post this from The Province for those outside B.C. I haven't heard anything further on Malholtra, though I know he doesn't hold a lot of fantasy value except for FOW & perhaps hits, but as you know, because of those contributions he's very valuable to the team itself. Fortunately they get a few days off after the Phoenix game.

Edit: Malholtra just listed as out indefinitely. Hope this is just precautionary and he's back soon.
I guess fantasy impact would include increased ice time for Kesler & Burrows on PK in particular.

Yup. Had surgery on the eye last night. Surgery went great (surprise) but he is having issues with his vision. Not a good sign this close to the playoffs, and to not sound selfish, a terrible sign for Manny himself. He is to be re-evaluated by a spe******t today and there should be an update at some point.
Nucks first to clinch

Here is the latest on Malhotra. Good article, though scary. Mattias Ohlund had a similar eye injury back in '99 that forced him to miss a good chunk of two seasons. His peripheral vision in his right eye never returned.
On the good side of things Beiksa made a remark that "hopefully (Malhotra) will be back for Wednesday's game." Very positive comment coming from a teammate...
Vancouver Sun
Mason Raymond drops down to the 4th line tonight and Higgins jumps up to take his spot with Kesler and Samuelsson. Lapierre replaces the injured Malhotra and Oreskovich draws in. Niether Bieksa nor Glass are ready for game duty yet.
