Pettersson (upper body) was shifted to long-term injured reserve Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Pettersson won't be eligible to return to the lineup until March 31 with his LTIR designation. He has already missed the last eight games and without a timetable, it's unclear when the 22-year-old may be ready to return. Pettersson has 10 goals and 21 points through 26 games this season.

He's already been called out for Wednesday. That isn't good....
Elias Pettersson (upper body) will not be in the lineup on Wednesday, according to coach Travis Green.
Advice: Pettersson has 10 goals and 21 points in 26 contests in 2020-21. He hasn't been in the lineup since March 2.

On the Canucks, the league wasn't made aware of any additional issues late last night but sense is more time will be needed to assess everything. Whether Vancouver is looking at a few days or longer, don't know yet.

According to Russian sources Vasily Podkolzin declined a new contract with SKA Saint Petersburg and plans to arrive at Vancouver in the offseason. He earned 11 points (5+6) in 35 regular season games and was the best scorer of the team in playoffs (6+5 in 15 matches). He also made the national team roster in Euro Ice Hockey Challenge matches against Belarus that will be played on 23rd and 24th of April.
