Stolarz was the star of the game. The score should have been worse. Monty did well too, great saves late. No rest for the wicked, Devils await.

As a Leaf fan I wish we had some of this lol.

    Pros to MTL's PP:
    - Simple by design.
    - Move the puck quickly to spread the box apart. Get the "bumper"/slot shot open.
    - If the PK gets tired, they'll collapse and the "bumper" is closed off. Make a cross crease pass to Caufield.

    Negatives to MTL's PP:
    - Too simple when given too much space. They don't know what to do when the PK fully collapses and the PP+PK gets tight.

The funny thing about the Montreal's PP, is it seems to be the opposite of the Leafs PP. They seem directionless and have too many cooks in the kitchen and are trying to talent their way to goals. I've always felt that there's too many guys out there that aren't selfish. The puck gets held too much while guys assess what's happening. The best I see this PP be is when they are firing the shots and grabbing the loose pucks and reloading. This group can really let the puck fly around the zone when the PK is in shambles, but they don't have a plan to get the PK in shambles.

I could be too close to the team though to be seeing this correctly though.

I had hockey and missed pretty much the whole game. I left the house at 0-0, got into the car at 2-0. I think it was 3-0 when I stopped following it.

Hakanpaa and Dewar are loaned to the AHL for a conditioning stint. Loans go up to 6 days or 3 games.

I think they have $3m in cap "space".

Cap limit is $88m, they have $84,993,437 in their current roster (including Benning) with 23players.

If they activate Hakanpaa and Dewar, they need to send 2 people down which likely would be Myers and Benning.

Activate the 2 players brings their cap to $87,643,437, sending down Myers and Benning would bring back down their cap to $85,718,437. I think the big question will be when Jarnkrok is ready and if it's Holmberg or Robertson as the odd-man out.

It's never a good fantasy night when a forward line combines to go -17 in a game. Congratulations to Auston Mathews (-6), Mitch Marner (-6) and Matthew Knies (-5) on achieving this rare feat against Carolina last night.
