Does anyone actually feel like this team can do damage in the playoffs?
Giving up leads....ok goaltending...Great special teams.....playing florida or tampa
Just doesn't seem right. Which is maybe the expectations that they'll strive under....?

very real chance the leafs finish top 5 in the league....but 3rd in their division resulting in them playing either the defending champs or the other florida team who is probably deeper than toronto is.
ergo, i dont think theyll be doing much damage and it would not necessarily be the fault of auston, mitch, john, willie or morgan. maybe its better if they go into the playoffs with lower expectations?
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.
its different group.....i think their chances are 50/50 just like chances of about 80% of teams that make it...
Just look at it this way...leafs have great final 2 months and bypass both Florida and Tampa...those two play each other...do you feel confident for either team? i dont think so....its going to be tough no matter what and not 0nly skill but also luck will be involved...
leafs have not had best luck in playoffs either...i dont think there was anything in the series vs CBJ but 2 years before that with Bruins , Kadri gets suspended first or second game i think? twice....!!!! last year Tavares is gone after few shift....its not excuse but its a fact...time will tell but to me they have as much of a chance to go deep as anybody...

Where's the barf emoji....
Ugly game. Weird trend that seems to be happening right now...but a lot of tipped in goals vs the Leafs right now.

And the next games are vs Van, @CBJ, vs Seattle, vs Ari, @Buff (Hamilton), vs Dallas
They have a pretty cake walk of a schedule between now and the trade deadline with only 2 real playoff threat teams in Carolina and Nashville on March 17, and March 19.

Leafs likely having a practice this morning (had yesterday off) which might answer the stuff below but whaaatever.
Leafs D Lines:
Rielly - Liljegren
Brodie - Holl
Sandin - Lybushkin
Rielly needs to be with a stay at home style of guy. Liljegren did impress me that one game he was with Rielly. Ideally Brodie is with Rielly but....Holl with Brodie has REALLY helped Holl. Not saying I want this forever, but should stick together. When Lybushkin is on the ice, nothing happens usually. Offensively and defensively, nothing happens. Sandin did help with making something happen offensively, and I enjoyed that pairing. I wanna see this longer than a game or two.
Leafs Forwards:
Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Robertson - JT - Nylander
Kerfoot - Kampf - Mikheyev
Engvall - Spezza - Kase/Simmonds (Someone between Kase, Simmonds, and Engvall as the scratch with Clifford)
That L1 can't be touched right now. Unless it's for a shift or two with Marner/Nylander flipping to help JT. What's the point of having Robertson on your NHL roster if you aren't playing him in the role he should be in. L2 or L3 should be where he is, and PP2. Give him a shot. L3 has played together and they've been a menace on the forecheck and strong defensively. Kerfoot is a bit more offensive than defensive, but if you want Robertson on your NHL roster, someone needs to shift. I wouldn't be surprised if they do the above, it ends with Robertson on L3 and Kerfoot on L2. L4 to me is Spezza+the leftovers.

I was pretty close with the lines.
But man. Why the heck are there so many goals going in off of tips. I don't get that right now. It feels like 80% of the goals are going off tips all of a sudden.
People on YouTube and in the media haven't even addressed it, and I've heard "play in front of the net" and "goaltending" as the culprits. I don't even know how bad they've been in front of the net, but it's these tips. I guess you can blame those as the reason why, but they haven't been worse in front of the net since Jan.
2 weeks to the deadline. Outdoor classic Jan20 (day before deadline) and Mrazek has new Arenas pads. Should get interesting.

The Heritage classic is next Sunday, 8 days before the deadline. Looks like the weather could be just about perfect considering it was +10°C in Hamilton yesterday. Expected just below freezing with possibly a little snow as the game goes on.
Oh shoot I thought it was the 20th not the 13th.
Kinda changes things on the Mrazek front in my eyes. I thought the Leafs were going to say "We aren't moving Mrazek before this date because we told him to get the pads." The organization seems up front with that kind of stuff. But it's def not a "NTC" lol.
