Cooper would not want to draw the Ref's attention to a hit to the head by Sergachev. He'd much rather Marner skate around with a concussion than draw that kind of attention to his own player.
It would almost be tantamount to suspending his own player if he did something like that.

I expect 1 game suspension because there was no injury.
It should be 3. it was clear head hunting.

    Marner got very lucky.

Hopefully Toews comes back Saturday to fill the Serg gap for me :/

This rough start by the Leafs may be a blessing in disquise.

Also talk around Holl/Dermott being moved. I think CJ said there was a deal but the other team pulled out last second and it was around the time Dermott got hurt. Could have been him.

They're looking for cap flexibility vs. waiving anyone else.
I mean Amadio got claimed FFS....

IMO.. I'm calling Adams in Buffalo to see what he'd be willing to add in a Mrazek - Craig Anderson swap.
    $3.8M vs. $765k - and I trust C.A. more.

That's $10m in cap space by end of year - or a 23 man roster vs. 21 and no more waivers (for the most part)

    *effective cap space

I have more faith in Mrazek than I would Anderson. I think the Leaf's will be trying to give Campbell as much rest as they can to keep him healthy.

    4-2 2.50 .921 with Buffalo so far
and he doesn't get hurt as often.

keeping Mrazek runs the possibility of Leafs having to waive Engvall when Mikheyev comes back to be cap compliant

I know we will keep Mrazek, but man... really puts the screws to what the leafs are able to do.

Tend to agree with the whole CA over Mrazek option. Really don’t trust Mrazek’s consistency.

Yes because what Anderson is doing on BUF is completely sustainable.

For the rest of this year and maybe next season it might be possible…if he was traded to the right team.

Is that an Anderson sustainability issue ?
Or a Buffalo - team in front of him sustainability issue ?

Maybe this is why they should be looking to move Mrazek but we haven't seen what he can do yet. I still think he's a solid option for either spelling Campbell at times or even splitting starts.

The fanbase love you until you aren't performing.

Hold onto Mrazek, he's on LTIR. Just chill lol. Mrazek for Anderson??? Really...

He's also an insurance policy for next yr too when the goalie market is realllly bad. What's your negative right now about Mrazek? You're upset he's hurt? You know you could get Anderson for literally ANYTHING at the deadline, or for literally anyone on your roster if you're that upset with not having another goalie.

I think that's an NHL22 decision to move Mrazek for Anderson, and I'm literally shaking my head while typing this lol.
