maybe they should just pump the brakes and take it one game / week at a time in regards to goaltending .

if you extend campbell now with a contract that basically tells mrazek ''we'll be shopping you soon'' it kinda creates a weird situation

guy is a stud. This was a brilliant acquisition by Dubas

They will be smart to lock him up.
they just can't pay him 4-5M and Mrazek 3.5. Mrazek will have to go.
Works for this year, just not beyond.
Dallas goalies all want more than Leafs will be able to pay a back up.
Bishop and Holtby have as many question marks as Mrazek IMO.
Khudobin is just too expensive as a back up.

Now THIS would shock me if it comes true.

Just note - I didn't put a year on it.
You look at his GAA SvPct behind that D... his W-L record.

Last season + start of this year
    he's a combined
    21-5-3 with a 2.10 GAA and a .923 svpct. (1.99 & .929 to start 21/22)

    Buckle up

Super hero Campbell does it again. Great game by Jack. Tavares played with emotion in that one.

    Nuts of a game.

    few notes:
    - How was that not a penalty shot?
    - Sergachev gets a phone call and a fine is my guess
    - Campbell has been insane.
    - PP is terrible. They need to change things up.
    - Vas is ludicrous.

Sergachev to have a hearing about his hit on Marner.

Apparently he did apologize to Marner during the game, for what that's worth.

Ya I put little weight into that apology. I have little interest when I play when someone does something really dumb to me and apologizes, like slashing me in the wrist, or swinging your stick ridiculously. Segachev knows better and that hit isn't a "man I'm so sorry" type of accident. It's a "I'm an idiot" accident.

It didn't happen at high speeds. Marner didn't turn last second, or duck last second putting himself in a dangerous spot. Sergachev didn't have little space or time before he decided to make the hit. It was a dumb "ahhh we got a penalty and his heads down, I'll skate into him to prevent the chance" move.

I do agree with the penalty being only a 2min if you're calling hit to the head with the way the NHL rule is written. It needs intent to injure to become a 5min+10min (and that's the only option for a H2TH) and I don't reeaaallly see intent to injure....it's such a grey area. I would personally say the rule needs to be tweaked and remove that "intent to injure" portion and just make it a H2TH is 5min. Removes a lot of those plays in my mind. If it's a "it could be a hit to the head, it might not" call it a 2min rough. If it's clear H2TH, 5min. Just my opinion because a 2min penalty for Sergachev isn't enough for the potential injury that Marner could have had. And a suspension doesn't really benefit Toronto, but the hit could have penalized Toronto down the road. That's always been a point for me with suspensions after the fact, the team it happened against is like "ya ok nice, but we don't care because we're looking at Boston now"

He was just testing out Marner's new and expensive dental work. All good. Quick thing, if it was a hit to the head how come Marner didn't sit off? I saw TB coaches were asking the same thing.

It's not part of the rule if a player gets hit and the main point of contact is the head, they must be removed from the ice the next play.

By the refs, Marner can play. Concussion spotters could have pulled him out to check him, but the refs couldn't. Unless Cooper thought the refs blew the play dead due to Marner being hurt then Marner needs to leave the ice. So maybe Cooper didn't see Vas play the puck to stop the play and Cooper thought the play was blown dead due to injury.

Meh, I didnt expect Leaf fans to accept his apology. I don't care one way or the other but if Marner was willing to bring it up post-game, it must have meant "something" to him.
