I feel for Simmonds, i really do. Guy is still a useful player that hasn't gotten a steady role the past few season.

That being said for selfish reasons I have Tavares/Marner/Rielly in one league and Matthews in another so this PP1 setup pleases me for sure haha

PP looked back to meh last night compared to other nights.

I did enjoy seeing Marner and Matthews changing sides because switching up your PP plays will be big this yr after playing teams a ton. That's why the 2 strong PPs worked so well instead of loading up on one.

Simmonds deserves better than this broken finger luck. If it's 6weeks, that'll be 20games. He def is needed and a larger part of the team than I originally thought he would be when he signed.

A lot to knit pick on that game last night. A LOT. But one thing I can't stand, is Matthews and Marner on 3on3 defensively when they are in the offensive zone. You can tell they sell out for an offensive chance, and don't think what happens if there's a miss. I don't know if it's coaching style, or what, but Matthews I can see it happening every OT, he creeps WAY to low into a corner where nothing is happening. I'm ok with if he's cheating for offense if the coach is telling him that, but to sacrifice defense for 0 offense upside is just so frustrating for me.

I'm not voicing this tho if Marner scores that goal and instantly becomes the goal of the yr. Good on Hogberg to stay with Marner there, but Matthews was caught staring at the play.

WTF are we trading for Galchenyuk for? If he can't make it in Ott. i'm dumbfounded. Only point to this deal IMO is we were are 50 contracts and Chuckie was a way to get us to 49

Gal is in the minors with no cap hit to the Leafs. Plays LW, and puts pressure on some other guys more than Korshkov was who was in the KHL.

It's a depth move. They get something for Korshkov who clearly wasn't part of the plan moving forward. And, if Gal does get a shot in the NHL due to injuries, he'll likely be playing some decent minutes and PP2, so he'll be playing with talent, Gal's got a shot, could be something there. If he's not in the NHL, he's on the Marlies helping Robertson score and put up points. If anything, this is getting a little bit of value for a guy who's done nothing for them, and who's development window isn't in the Leafs win window.

Also, just because he was sitting in Ottawa doesn't mean there's no value. Ottawa is/was sitting players who should be in the NHL.

No.. Chucky is trash. he's not a great locker room guy. he sulks, demands trades. This is not a guy I want around my top 2 prospects 'grooming'.

The only pressure is going to be on Dubas in a week to get rid of him.

PA Parenteau did an interview last yr saying he does not have an attitude problem. He did say he wouldn't be surprised if Gal is out of the league "next yr" because of his skating. He isn't fast enough to keep up, and his IQ isn't to the level of JT to compensate for it. Or he just doesn't have a high enough skill to compensate for his skating like P.Kane.

I can't say he's a bad attitude or not because I don't know what's happening, but if a player comes out and says his attitude isn't the thing holding him back, it's skating which in turn changes his confidence, I would say that's likely what it is. Confidence is effecting his bad attitude, but not a bad attitude because of the situation.

It's also whatever if it fails. 1yr deal, no cap hit, moved a player your GM didn't draft and for all we know didn't want to come over to the Leafs.

They do play tmo too, so I'm sure that factors into the decision. I was pretty surprised to see Andersen the "Likely" starter right now after him looking tired last game. We'll see I guess.

Wow, I never knew how you felt about this guy. Hasn't come up in any form of posts and with no more information in any of those posts.
