If Aaron Dell passes through waivers, I'll drive to Edmonton myself to kick Kenny Holland in the junk. Dell is nothing special, but he's still better than anything else currently available under Koskinen.

Waivers are based on last years standings, so yeah, other teams might snag him. If he passes through, we know no one put a claim in. If he goes to a different team other than Edmonton, it's easy enough to check their waiver spot compared to the Oilers.

Bigger deal over Dell than needed to be made. (Not by us forum folk... but by Dubas & Toronto media).
They had a few back-ups gets claimed in past seasons.
But Jack Campbell is solid.
Toronto can just trade for a back-up if they need to.
So long as their guys don't get injured or both CV-ed at same time... they'll be fine.

Devils now have five goalies on their roster/Taxi Squad. The two woods (Black and Wedge), Senn and the recently claimed off waivers Comrie and Dell. Sad part is Toronto is ahead of Edmonton on the WW priority if I am not mistaken. Have to wait and see what NJ is going to do once Comrie comes off his quarantine.

^Yeah, NJ is being pretty ridiculous with the goalies.
What's even more interesting is that the Devils hired analyst guru Tyler Dellow a few years ago.
I honestly can't imagine a GM (Fitzgerald, former forward) wanting so many goalies which he has to roster (or waive) himself.
It's sort of suggestive that maybe Dellow (& others) have hinted that these are assets that they can flip to skaters.
I can see NJ making a direct-trade with EDM for a goalie.

There are rules against flipping players you claimed off waivers though. I think if any other team put in a waiver claim behind the team with the successful claim, more or less, gets dibs on said player before he can be traded. I can't remember the specifics.

CBA 13.20(b) A Player who has been acquired by Waiver claim shall not be Traded to another Club until the termination of Playoffs of the season in which he was acquired unless he is first offered on the same terms to the Club(s) that entered a claim when Waivers were requested originally and the offer has been refused.
