Why would he need to ? Timashov was never projected to be anything special, but he impressed me more than Malgin has. And Marchment is exactly the type of player they need more of, not less. It seemed as though they realized that when they acquired Clifford.

Losing Timashov on waivers isn’t a big deal. Trading Leivo for pretty much nothing was a kick in the nuts though.

Malgin plays a heavier game than Timashov. And while I'm not arguing they don't need a Marchment type player.. Marchment wasn't that player. He's not an NHL player.

I'll let Malgin get in a few more games before I pass judgement. He hasn't had a lot of reg. game action the past couple months.

150 hits in 185gp before coming to Tor. It's not as if Malgin plays a Gaudreau type game either.

This team needs a better #3 & #4 Centre and serious upgrades on D.

What they need most of all is a complete change of locker room attitude. You look at how other top teams top players play - Leafs top players don't play that way. That needs to change more than I give two craps about Leafs bottom end of the line up.

At this point I feel like there's a locker room issue that's been brewing for a while now.

Matthews, despite the season he's having, looks disinterested. I can't stand that guy's demeanor. Tavares is invisible out there and keeps saying the same robotic shit in every interview. Marner is even more self-deprecating than usual.

I don't know what it takes to light a fire under these kids... maybe they are too fat and happy with their new contracts to give a shit.

Totally agree, their demeanours need a change. Get angry and do something about it. Stop being depressed or apathetic.

Since you brought up Malgin's hits, I have to poiint out that Timashov had 83 hits in 39gp.
So if it's hits and heavier that you want, Dubas should have stuck with Timashov.

And regarding the trade request, I think he could have been convinced to stay, had he been given a better opportunity. He could have been a solid 4th liner for the leafs.
