As for the signing, I think it is a wise signing.

Regardless if Sparks is the cheapest or not, it's a no risk, short signing. Which, with the cap crunch coming - is exactly what the Leafs need next season. Any UFA would have been more.

I'll give it to you as Miller is a UFA next yr and Boyle is likely the backup next yr. And Jarry/DeSmith next yr is a toss up for that team even with DeSmith with the pay raise.

Hart and Blackwood can make up to ~860k+ next yr with bonuses...

Still, whatever, not many backups making less than $750,000

Maybe hoping Kaskisuo can bridge the gap to Will or Scott. That or just leaving the flexibility open to sign someone more reliable the season after if a young backup isn't working.
