Andersen is day to day with a groin injury per Yahoo (not that I go to Yahoo for my hockey info) - If it is a groin that’s troubling

Why are the Leafs playing a Thursday home game at 2pm tomorrow?

It's for kids who would still be on Christmas break I do believe.

Andersen on IR, Sparks being evaluated for a concussion... I think one of you guys could drive to the rink and play goal next game.

Hutch and Kaskisuo emergency recalled. Hutch likely starts.

Sparks took a shot off the head in practice.

Yep, that’s exactly it. Watching the pregame now. Very cool idea by the Leafs. Sportsnet is doing a good job of it too. They have a 13 year old rink side reporter paired up with Christine Simpson. Very well done. Now we just need a solid performance from Hutch and a win.

couldn't we have borrowed the Don Mills Flyers goalie for the game? I mean if it's for the kids... can't be worse than Hutch can he?

18 saves on 19 shots in the first period. Pretty good so far.

I'm pretty sure they advertised that 2pm start time last yr as a "kids game" as well as the anniversary of the Arenas 1st game.

Hainsey played 7:24 of the first period. WTF Babcock. He needs to be closer to 5-6minutes/period.

That's why I suggested some of you go to the rink today. You had a legit chance to start!

Yeah, I knew last year’s 100th anniversary/Arenas game was for the kids but that was when school was still on and they had a kids day much like OHL and AHL teams do, hosting full classrooms of children. I didn’t hear anything about today’s afternoon game until yesterday. Just thought it was a bit odd.

Ya, it was Tuesday when I realized it was a 2pm start too.

As a Hutchinson owner, I'm very disappointed with the Leafs defensive zone coverage, especially on the first two goals against. All five guys were back, but it's like they didn't know who to cover. Minor hockey stuff. The third goal against was a weak one by Hutchinson, but again, they allowed the opposing defenseman to waltz well into the face off dot. Plus the turnovers were brutal. Maybe too much time spent working on their cellys over Christmas.

With defensive zone coverage woes and those turnovers, Toronto fans better get used to the idea of a first round playoff loss when power play opportunities dry up. Yeah, maybe Andersen can steal a round, but that is not a formula for success.
