Does it matter who we get?

It's the playoffs baby. You gotta win anyways. Let's get this show on the road already.

    Lines at practice yesterday:
    Forwards:
    Hyman-Matthews-Nylander
    Marleau-Kadri-Marner
    JvR-Bozak-Brown
    Komarov-Plekanec-Kapanen
    Extra’s

    Defense:
    Rielly-Hainsey
    Gardiner-Zaitsev
    Dermott-Polak

    Extra’s
    Martin, Carrick Leivo, Johnsson, Moore

    Goalies:
    Andersen
    McElhinney

Martin was playing with Carrick I think randomly…So seems like the lines are set to what they finished the regular season at. If this was a video game, I’d have AJ in for Leo Komarov, but I get why he’s in the lineup, if the Leafs get bullied I can see Matt Martin in for Kap, but again, I wouldn’t do that.

Which were the most entertaining Leaf games from this last season ?

I have a buddy coming over to the house tonight who is stressed out and is a huge leafs fan. He grew up in GTA but hasn't watched a game in a few years since getting married and having a few kids.

He didn't know about the Shanaplan.

can leaf nation help the guy out ?

    thanks in advance
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

Sorry. Didn't realize he lived in Japan. Can't really think of any game that stood out for me TBH. Maybe one of their regular season games against Boston though since they are playing them in the playoffs. Could be interesting to compare the games.

leafs need to repeat last night's start on Mon... clean up their stick work and keep Bos off that powerplay. man 5 PK's in the 2nd period alone.. they really tried to give that game away.

Lou should probably wait a couple weeks to call Edm and offer Gardiner for their lottery pick... after last nights -5 it might be too soon still.

Dreger called into TSN 1050 about an hour ago and said the Oilers have heavy interest in Ekman-Larsson, and he doesn't know why the Leafs aren't pursuing him as aggressively as the Oilers are. He said it would probably take Gardiner, Kapanen and a 1st to get a seat at the table, but the Leafs clearly need an impact defenseman.

That said, I wonder if the Oilers offer their 1st and another real good piece to the Yotes on draft day for OEL.

I don't see the leafs being willing to part with Kapanen & the 1st. I can see them considering moving on from Gardiner

If the Leafs want to make it out of round 1, defense needs to be addressed. In order to get a top-end player on D, you need to give. Gardiner alone isn't going to get you an upgrade.

One thing is for sure - the Leafs need to make a strong push to sign John Carlson if he hits market. They need to trow the farm at this dude.

In addition, they need to bring in a legit, smart, defensive D who can munch minutes.

They need at least two upgrades on D.

OEL is overrated for that price for 1 yr of him.

Could OEL sign with Yotes for lets say 8mill, and Yotes retain 3mill of him to accept more pieces in a trade?

Like a 8millx8yrs contract, but Leafs/Oilers actually only have him at a cap hit of 5mill lets say? But this is a sign and trade
