Ceci going on the IR was probably one of the better moves for the Leafs trying to make the playoffs.

Depending on how badly hurt Rielly is, they should consider putting all those guys on IR (or LTIR or whatever it's called), freeing up some cap space to get help, then bringing them all back for the start of the playoffs (where there is no cap).

Blackhawks pulled this off with Kane one year and ended up winning the cup.

Andersen is the only one not on the LTIR, he's on the regular IR. He is also nearing a return since Keefe said "He might be able to go Tuesday" (not a direct quote) so he'll be back soon.

Rielly we should get an update real soon (this week I think). Mikheyev is apparently late season return, no change on his schedule. Ceci is definitely done this season, and if the Leafs make the playoffs, he won't see the ice then.

Playoffs are far from a given for this Leafs team. I believe short of some legit defensive help at the deadline, they won't make it.

It was great to see Mikheyev back on the ice for the 1st time since his wrist surgery. One of the more uplifting stories from this season.

Campbell's little "team forward" moves is nice to see. He taps a D-man on the shins after every covered puck as a "thanks guys", even when the save is all him. His comments at the end of games are making you want to like him. He reminds me a bit of Reimer. Fights for every save, not the smoothest looking goalie, oddly quiet voice that seems to kinda be forced out like a teenager talking in front of his english class for the first time due to nerves.

"Both teams didn't give each other much, but Kappy made a great play to seal the deal for us and we needed that. He stepped up and made a great play. We'll take it." The "we'll take it" is just so...Reimer sounding.

Absolutely love Black Jack Campbell. Guy is almost impossible not to love. Very team guy. A guy that can rally a team. Very different from the personality and presence free Frederik Andersen. The way Andersen was playing before he got hurt, Campbell might be more than just a fill in and regular backup.

It'll be interesting. Leafs play Feb13, Feb15 and Feb16. So if Andersen is healthy, tonight is a solid game for him to play, Campbell Saturday (@Ottawa), Andersen Sunday (@Buffalo)

Andersen off IR. We'll know at noon the corresponding move (Hutch on waivers). Andersen starting tonight.

    Mango out a while apparently.

Looks like his knee and it's long-term.
Back in Toronto, Andreas Johnsson is going to be out for a while... Leafs coach Keefe said in his post-game presser: "We’ll know more tomorrow, but it’s a knee injury and it’s not going to be short term."
Big weekend for the Leafs. Opting not to practice today before flying to Ottawa to try and get in front of the flu bug that's hit the team. Playing 3 games in 4 nights, Buffalo (Sunday's game) is off till then.

Nothing less than all 4 points this weekend will be acceptable. We have Ottawa and Buffalo. I don’t care about back-to-backs, flu bugs or injuries, win both games.

What do we make of these Muzzin extension rumours?

LeBrun and a few others are saying Leafs are close to extending for $5.5M x 4.

That seems like a reasonable term & salary to me for Muzzin.
