Don Cherry is no longer relevant in any way. Probably shouldn't be listening to his podcast unless it's for a laugh.

A 1min long YouTube video popped up on my homepage and I had some interest peaked for the first time. The clickbait hit hard on me.

Couple of things from last night's game:

1- Leafs played a good tight defensive 1st 2 periods even tho Montreal came out hitting
2- Why did Matthews take the face off against Danault? Looks like Keefe wants to give him any shot at 40
3- Campbell played a great game but for the softy to tie it up
4- Why didn't Mitch Marner shoot the damn puck on the 2 on 0 break? Looks like Marner wants to give Matthews any shot at 40
5- Caufield turning into the best player ever at 3 on 3

Close game but Leafs should've wrapped it up, media will be all over Campbell but I blame Matthews/Marner just as much for not scoring in OT.

Campbell was the reason it went to OT (both the good and bad side of that). But it's pretty obvious the Leafs win the game if Matthews is at 40G already.

He doesn't take the draw, Marner doesn't over pass, players play a more "survival" mode when the nets empty instead of trying to get it it out for Matthews to score an EN.

I'm not concerned over that game as a whole, I just hope they flip the switch and try to win games instead of doing these cute tests before the end of the regular season. It's smart Keefe is experimenting but at some point they shouldn't be doing that and get back into the playoff mindset.

Totally agree 24OG. They have to stop worrying about individualism and start thinking team. Felt a bit like "give the puck to Matthews so he can get 40" mentality. No big deal since 1st is clinched but in 2 weeks time that type of attitude needs to be an after thought. Can't wait for the playoffs though.

Matthews has played to defend a 1 goal lead in the final minute for a good chunk of the season. Part of it is to get him an ENG so i get trying to pad stats, but i agree he probably shouldnt be taking the draw when Tavares is on the team. They could use an elite checking 3rd line centre also.

For fantasy purposes, definitely peeved Matthews and Marner got nothing out of that.

The draw was on his weak side, and JT was like 56% that night and Matthews was 40%. They made the comment right before the draw.

I'll shrug this one off, I'll be mad if it continues.

I heard on the radio that Freddy is going on an AHL stint? And foligno might be done until playoffs. Good decision no need to play until it starts to really count.

yeah, there is a 2:00 pm start tomorrow between Marlies and Moose. Fredy is scheduled to play half of this game and its on TSN. not sure which half he plays but im assuming he starts.

Pretty interesting they're going with half. I can't think of a time where a team used an AHL stint on a goalie for half a game. I'd assume this is all what Andersen wants. Prolly play half a game, test how his knee "area" feels tmo and then see if the next game will be a full game.

Games at 3pm EDT, then 3pm on May 8th and May 9th.

I think I did say this was the part of the schedule to keep an eye on since it's an extended set of games in Toronto. That's prolly why it's today's game too, the Marlies playing in Toronto limits Andersen's need to travel.

im thinking he plays half game then full game...this is more cause there is not much practice time this year...im not sure this AHL stint is normal and it just got added for this year due to circumstances but im not 100% sure on that.

AHL Conditioning stints aren't new. Just rarely used because the player needs to "OK" the decision.
