He's likely to be in the top 6 though.

certainly not a guarantee he makes the top 6. iirc he played pretty well before his wrist injury with Tavares and Nylander.

staying in toronto is probably his best bet tho. the LW spots are open in the top 6...

His competition at LW is Bunting and Ritchie. I think he’ll be ok.

Last yr his issue was just his shot was terrible. He never had an amazing shot to begin with, but that skate cut 2 yrs ago really took a lot of his shot away. If he rehab'd it this summer, he can get back to that level we saw in 2019 and what we expected from him in 2020.

Ho-Sang looks great offensively, but he's made a few plays that wouldn't fly in a game against all NHLers. He def should sign a deal with the Marlies and be a player that can be brought up incase of injuries. He def deserves a contract in NA.

Keefe signed an extension for 2yrs through the 2023-24 season. Makes sense, he's been solid and considering this is his first full 82 game season and camp, he definitely deserves it. But also, it's the Leafs...coaches extensions don't mean a whole lot besides financial security for the coach, there's not a whole lot of job security lol

Watching All or Nothing.....Im sure it's like this with most coaches, but it really feels like the team doesn't like Keefe. So far they're focusing on those lower lineup guys so I get the frustration from the players, but even his interactions with Matthews aren't particularly positive.

I don't think there's frustration between the players and Keefe. I think Keefe is very much separating himself as a coach vs a friend though. I think there was a lot of pressure on Keefe as well so I don't think he was as friendly as he might be. I've been told stuff while on the ice and I'm kinda just dead-panned staring into nothingness and I'm sure my attitude would be the same from an outside view.

I see the relationship like a teacher and a student. There's very few teachers who would joke with you, and very few students that would joke back unless you were super comfortable with ppl in a leadership role (Thornton). Matthews, Marner, and all the other young guys are young and might not enjoy joking with the coach still. Also JT has no personality unless it's with his family, but even with his uncle that was super awkward lol.

Keefe seems blunt though in general. Him telling Vesey pretty much start doing something or you're off the team was pretty awkward. It was almost like Vesey knew the camera was there and didn't want to tell the coach "you have me in a role I don't like" but couldn't. And Keefe also wanted to tell him "we aren't putting you in a top 6, so start hitting".

I've only finished ep3 though. So I might be missing something large in ep4.

    Haven't gotten there yet.

I did like the stuff with the goalie coach and how the goalie coach stood up for Andersen and Keefe wasn't having any of it. Keefe really didn't like the play of Andersen and it really seemed like Andersen's "his knee is ready, but we're waiting on him mentally" was a stress to management.
