Oh I think he could have pressed for more than $1M and likely would have got it if it weren’t for the cap issues.

Signing Hutch as a #4 is smart business. Depth is going to be paramount this year more than ever.... Even if it is Hutch.
Not sure most teams can say they have a G with that many NHL games as their #4.
With so many projected B2B.. the IR could be fuller than ever.

I really like the 3yrs 750K AAV of Joey Anderson, gives him and the team time for him to carve out a role. Yr3 is a 1-way contract.

Agreed re: Joey Anderson. Well done KD.

With Hutch coming in as #4, does this meet that Scott and Woll are ECHL bound do you think?

Depends on taxi squad rules for 2020-21.

If you can carry a third NHL goalie without cap hit, Dell is No3, Hutch No1AHL, Scott/Woll are No2/3.

I think/believe (depending on COVID) that you'll see a larger roster allotment for the upcoming season. That means someone like Dell or Hutch will stay up with the big club while one will be in the AHL. Either way, I expect one of Scott/Woll will be in the ECHL getting his work in.

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Agreed... Personally, I think they both should start there. I imagine it'll be Scott and Woll with the marlies. They'll use the ECHL as hip rehab for Scott.

(side note: it's only a matter of time before the rest of the NHL catches on and follows suit and starts formalizing their ECHL rosters as a secondary farm team - IE AA & AAA baseball. Hopefully the Leafs can develop a couple mid-six forwards or 2nd pair Dman before they do)

Thornton coming over to Toronto now, Robertson not released for team USA, looking like the season is going to happen mid-January.

I'm pretty happy Robertson is getting a real look at making the lineup. I think it was his choice though to not go to USA. It was a "you have a shot at the TML, but you can't go to Team USA and get a legit shot at the opening night lineup. You'll miss camps, we have a log jam of wingers. You might get lost in the shuffle if you miss camps"

yeah personally i dont get this one for teams in Canada. Even if USA goes all the way, they will be done by 5th, Camp starts on the 3rd. Since he does not need to quarantine (unless im missing something) he could be with the Leafs as early as 6th or 7th....im sure he would be in much better game shape having played the tournament than if he spend 2-3 extra days at the camp, specially at the start of camp when things are a bit slower....i see WJC this year as advantage for young players not other way around but thats me....

Unless again, they need to quarantine upon leaving the bubble which im not sure why that would be necessary given that they be tested probably daily in the bubble.

Players need to quarantine once in their NHL cities per the NHL rules for 7 days (I think that's the amount of time for quarantine)

Ya I think the rule is more directed at the USA. Like living in Florida and playing in California. No need to quarantine (unless I'm missing some state law there) but going from a high infected area to a low infected area is what the NHL is trying to avoid.

Also the way Alberta is going...I'm fine with the "travel to your NHL city, you gotta quarantine" lol
