Dmytro Timashov will come out as Denis Malgin goes in vs #LetsGoPens

Sheldon Keefe says he’s considering trying some new things though so wouldn’t go into where Malgin will fit in the lineup.

    ^That's intriguing.

Wonder if it's a big shift of some kind.

Trying something new? That's not dangerous considering anything is better than how they've played.

    Reunite Tavares and Marner?

    Malgin - Matthews - Nylander
    Hyman - Tavares - Marner

I’m not one who normally posts lines but just a guess.

Well, I was close. @kristen_shilton just tweeted:

#Leafs lines in warmup (vs. Penguins):

    Hyman-Matthews-Marner
    Nylander-Tavares-Malgin

This is what makes us Leaf fans so mad at the team when they play bad. Seriously, this team teases and tortures us year after year....wait...is THIS "the bad place"?! Eleanor, are you there?

Tyson Barrie was taken off PP1 last night. Went 5F with Hyman in Barrie's place and I think they're keeping that configuration. Barrie must be getting traded.

Also, this is a great view of Kapanen's knockout of McCann.

    10 Team H2H Points-Only

    22 Man Roster: 9F, 5D, 1U, 2G w/Max of 4 G's (Can drop G for F or D) 5 Bench Spots (Up to 7 if you don't carry a goalie)
F: McDavid, Barkov, Marner, Pettersson, Stone, Olofsson, Pearson, Meier, DeBrincat, Ehlers, Fiala, Rust, Kubalik, Cirelli, Yamamoto, Tarasenko, (Ghost of Bjorkstrand...too sad to fill his spot right now)
D: Hedman, Barrie, Klingberg, Pionk, Niskanen
    G: Zero-Goalie Strategy

They've done 5F the last few weeks when late on the PP and there was a time in OT they went 4F when on a 4on3 (10 games ago).

They've been doing this before "calls for Barrie" were happening when Keefe was head coach. Wouldn't call it a guarantee because of that.

The difference this time is Keefe's commentary after the game last night stating he prefers Hyman's net front presence there. That hasn't been the case in the past with his end of regulation and OT tinkering with PP1. Sounds like it's 5F look in all situations rendering Barrie totally obsolete. I'd be shocked if he's still a Leaf come Tuesday at 3P Eastern.

Can't wait. I read the Keefe quote late last night in 3rd period of Panthers/Kings game where I feel asleep. I didn't get the context correct. Keefe spoke to "those situations" meaning 5-3, not necessarily 5-4 as default option.

Here was his exact quote: Keefe says having Hyman as net-front presence creates "good mix ... unfortunately that takes Barrie off, but we just like that look for those situations"

Gotta think Dubas will be in hard on Bogosian for rest of season on a 1m contract. Big body and a clear 3rd pair upgrade to what we have now.

If Bogosian signs now though, does his cap hit get modified to fit the number of days he's playing though? (Like Nylander's first year)
I think the answer is no on a one-year deal, but I'm not quite sure.
