Last 7 minutes was the Andersen show.

I still don't get why people boo specific players on their own team, but to hear Gardiner getting booed in Tampa by Leaf "fans" did give me a chuckle, then I felt bad. Gardiner was prolly happy he was leaving Toronto to get away from that stuff.

He played pretty well last night, couple of plays were 50/50 pucks where if he was on the losing end of the 50%, people would have jumped on the ice to kill him. Glad to see his confidence hasn't shifted to where he picks the safe, non-right play.

I saw a tweet this morning from someone at the game (a Leaf fan) claiming the booing generally came from Bolts fans.

Kind of hard to tell though when both teams have damn near the exact same coloured jerseys, which I still can't believe the NHL allowed. Hurts my brain.

Apparently today’s practice was cancelled yesterday and not at the last minute. James Mirtle just seeking out attention as usual. I’d imagine Dubas is just going to address the recent struggles without any major announcement. We’ll see.

Apparently Dubas is only speaking to the media due to a complaint from someone regarding practice & media availability being cancelled today without enough notice.

Kyle Dubas says the #leafs have made progress on an extension for Auston Matthews. Ideally he'd like to get it done ASAP for long-term clarity before trade deadline. Adds they aren't negotiating with Mitch Marner at the request of Marner's agent, Darren Ferris.

Finally, a legit partner for Rielly. I've seen on some other sites, fans are upset at losing Grundstrom. I get it, he's a sandpaper we sorely lack. But that's the cost of business. A top 2 Dman doesn't come cheap. Mind you - it's not Taylor Hall expensive. So there's that!

Next year is the cap-crunch year. Having cap assurance with Muzzin vs. Gardiner is huge. I would think this means the end of Gardiner come the off-season. Just no way they can afford to sign him as things stand.

That said, be interesting to see if Gardiner is still here come deadline. I could see (unlikely, but possible) of potentially flipping Gardiner+ for a top 4 upgrade over him. Realistically, we'll have Gardiner come playoffs.

I'd like to see one more D added - if we could get a #4 upgrade to replace Zaitsev - with term. That would be ideal. Robert Hagg would be one of my dream targets. Although, I've only seen Gudas rumours linked to Toronto.
