Leafs "gain" like 5.5mill in Ceci/Barrie being replaced by Lili/Sandin.
Mikheyev is an RFA, but he'll be a "cheap" replacement if they decide to move a Kap or Johnsson.
I'm not too worried about 2020-21 seasons cap, I'm worried about 2021-22 season. Hyman and Andersen will be UFAs and Rielly on his last yr of his deal.

Having no replacement in direct sight for Andersen is bigger than filling the bottom 6 and 3D. Since Toronto does have some forward prospects, and Sandin/Lili will at least be there for D. The fact they have a top 5-10 goalie at 5mill with no replacement in direct sight is worrisome for me.
That's personal opinion though. I have faith in the Leafs scouting for replacing bottom 6 forwards, it's replacing a goalie that's deadly to a team.

This series will be sure be interesting.
On one hand, D almost always wins in the playoffs (advantage CBJ), assuming decent goaltending.
As we all know, bad goaltending usually trumps everything.
But the D is typically quite sloppy when hockey first starts up, so one would have to reasonably say that this works in Toronto's favor, being the better offensive team.
Coaching advantage has to go to Columbus.
Harder working team is Columbus. The Leafs are flat out lazy sometimes.
Goaltending I would say Toronto, but Freddy has always been questionable in the post-season.
Special teams I would say Toronto with a slight advantage, but Columbus has a solid PK % so maybe it's a wash.
CBJ 3 games to 1
Forwards - Toronto
Offensive System - Toronto
Defense - Split
Defensive System - CBJ
Coaching - CBJ, but Keefe has recent 5-game playoff series experience
Goaltending - Toronto
PPP - Toronto (6th in percentage)
PK - CBJ (12th in percentage), CBJ just doesn't take penalties in general. They were last in total penalties taken. However, Toronto was 6th (21st in percentage)
5-on-5 - Toronto
Goaltending is interesting because CBJ has to decide between Merzlinkins and Korpisalo. Over a 5 game series, making a choice is tough. Pick one and go to the other after a bad game could just be as bad as sticking with the original goalie. Then there's Toronto who just pretty much has to go with Andersen no matter what unless he's hurt.
Comes down to if Toronto's talent works hard. Working hard will win over trying to out talent a team. CBJ will work hard, Leafs talented core needs to work hard. Can Leafs avoid the forecheck, can the Leafs capitalize on offensive chances, can CBJ clog up the neutral zone. Those are the keys.
As per the Leafs/CBJ defense, could be better splitting system and defense players as a whole.

Let’s not forget the Leafs are going into this series with a full healthy roster which we really haven’t seen at all yet this season. Our blue line has been depleted since the get go. While Columbus will be without Josh Anderson. Only one player but his presence can be a game changer at times.
Leafs had 2 refs and 2 linesmen on the ice for their practice yesterday and will continue that going forward. They weren't scrimmaging either, just running drills with the extra 4 bodies on the ice.

Looks like the Leafs had a fantasy draft for a 5 game scrimmage series with Matthews and Andersen being captains. Hopefully these games will be streamed for the fans.
