Lamoriello says Soshnikov will practise with the Leafs until cleared by team doctors to come off IR. At which point that will force a roster decision

they haven't lit it up like Boston, who I hope hit their stride too soon and loosen up come April. It still looks like the Leafs are finding their stride and not fully in it yet

First time Marner, Nylander and Matthews have been involved on 1 goal. Kind of weird trivia there.

Last night was thoroughly enjoyable to watch. Didn't like the loss of the lead, but they stayed focused and aggressive and handled the league's best team pretty well start to finish, especially during the final 5 minutes to hold them off.

It was pretty even I'd say except a few bursts by TBL. Toronto fully set the pace for the first 19minutes. It was their game. 2 quick goals (both were like 50/50 plays too) brought TBL back into the game. Then Toronto set the pressure again, then TBL scored. Toronto answered then it was Toronto's game until the last 5minutes, then it started to tilt towards TBL for the final 5min.

Nylander almost sniped a 3rd goal to make it 4-1 right before the TBL 2nd goal i think? Maybe right before the 1st goal even, and that could have just changed the whole game.

TBL had big Bursts throughout the game, but Toronto I'd say set the tone. Freddy bailed them out, but it wasn't like he was the star, he just handled the bursts.

I think the team also did extremely well in the final 2 minutes clearing the zone and not letting Tampa set up. But yes... Freddy did Freddy things. Great team effort to close it out.

BM is one of the best people to not feed rumours. He's an artist at killing them tho.

Mike Green for Leivo, Borgman, 2018 1st round pick was something tossed out there by TSN I do believe, maybe it was The Score tho. I don't see how a RH Defenseman can cost that much tho!

It was The Score. And yeah he is a UFA. I get the fact of trading Borgman and Leivo. Get rid of 2 contracts, Borgman is going to find himself in a log-jam eventually, and Leivo already is. But to add a 1st rounder is steep.

it's a steep price but if the pick is conditional upon green re-signing it's not as bad as you would think.

RHD will always be coveted, Green will get a very good return when he's traded. I can't see how he doesn't get a 1st 2018 + even if just as a rental.

Conditional dependant on signing is not bad- otherwise what... a 2nd? I could live with that. I like both those players but when guys like Kapanen barely get a crack- I think we've got the depth to cover it...
