Is it safe to drop him in a one year league? He's not listed on IR yet. I'm thinking I might hold off until the second opinion comes.

Why do you care if they put him on IR, just drop him.

Just saw your previous post, drop him ASAP. Even if he did come back, it would be a while before his knee would be 100%.

Even in a keeper league like ours, since we can only protect 4 players, I don't even think he is worth protecting. He won't be back to normal until at least December and even then will he be a superstar again? I'm not sure.
Head to Head League: 1 point for G, 1 point for A. 2 for Goalie win, 3 for SO.
Start 6 guys every week. 3 O, 2 D and 1G. No substitutions once they are in (before the first game starts on Monday).
Protect 3 players every year in keeper.
    10 rounds of drafting
F: Crosby, Point, P. Kane, JVR, Kopitar, Rakell, Tarasenko,
D: Letang, Doughty, Karlsson, Grzelcyk, Faulk,
    G: Bob, Shesterkin, Demko, Kahkonen

I think I would still protect him. I definitely think he will be back to normal once he fully heals. I would only have serious doubts if it happened to a player who was much older than Malkin is.

Damn, I can't stand Malkin at all but this is a tough break. I don't wish an injury like that on anyone. That is not good news for the Pens and fantasy owners. But, when it comes to keeping Malkin, it is still a no-brainer.

This is a blessing. Now I can drop him and get on with my life.

I'm going to withhold my anger about this @$$hole F%^#ing me over TWO years in a row now and just ask one thing: Isn't this the same type of injury that Markov suffered earlier this year? If so, I wouldn't be concerned about whether or not anybody should keep him in a 1 yr. league. It's more like, why would anyone trust him next year?

That would be me. He's going to later than he did this year and he'llmbe sitting there and I'll be so happy for a month until I realize I should have just taken Krecji or Grabovski - both of who have more points in my league. Bleeding head, hitting wall, can't stop.

Good news guys! I really think Forsberg will come back. If you can snatch him off waivers you won't even notice Malkin missing from your roster!

Tom Brady injured his ACL/MCL in 2008 and took the whole season off. He seems to have recovered so maybe there is hope for Malkin...right? Not sure how the injury relates differently to hockey and football but I don't think this is the end of Malkin. Defiantly not a good situation though.
    12 team points only keeper (G = 1, A = 1, W = 2, SO = 2)
Dress 6 forwards, 4 defensemen, 2 goalies, weekly starts
    Roster limit - 20 plus 4 prospects

The question truly is, "Who would tequilamonster rather have for next year: Malkin (with knee braces) or Turris (the bust)?"

Active roster (no starts, just total points): 12 FW, 6 D, 1 Goalie

Forwards: Kucherov, Barkov, Teravainen, Seguin, Hoffman, Lindholm, Gusev, Horvat, Meier, Perron, Schwartz, Johansen, Pavelski, Buchnevich, Hischier, Granlund, Bracco

Defense: Josi, Dahlin, Letang, Gostisbehere, Ekman-Larsson, Petry, Slavin, Keith, Matheson

    Goal: Lehner, Holtby, Varlamov

Farm: Soderstrom, York, Woo, Tracey, Dorofeyev
