I think this idea, I hope he can get it done!

If Glavine could get something like this done, I would worship him! He's a big hockey fan and seems like he really cares about the Thrashers. I'm feeling more confident about the Thrashers future in Atlanta, not just because of this news, but because I believe someone or a group will step in and keep them in Atlanta. I think Phoenix is way worse off.

An interesting bit about Glavine is that he currently coaches Nik Antropov's son.

I just read that the Glendale Arizona City Council has agreed to pony up $25 Million to cover the Coyote's losses for another year.

It certainly doesn't solve the problem, but it at least removes the urgency from the situation, and I would think this would make the Thrashers ownership issue the league's top priority now.

They have Taormina who did well prior to being injured.

Yeah I really think Taormina will step it up next year and Rafalski/Boyle his way into the NHL. He's shown he can.

I really hope Atlanta doesn't move West. It will screw up so much and then Phoenix might move the following year which will put everything back to the way it was if they move east to Quebec. They should try to move Altanta to Quebec (even though I know they're not read) and Phoenix to Winnipeg. It would make the most sense to me.

Well, we know for sure that this is the Coyotes last straw. All the council members came off that way. If they don't accomplish what they need to with ownership then they are done for. So does Winnipeg wait another year to try and take Phoenix again? Or do they start trying for Atlanta?

I think the Winnipeg bid will go to any team that becomes available. They just want a team.

If I were Winnipeg I'd rather have Atlanta. They have a younger, brighter future with more star players. The only thing they're missing IMO is a goalie (Pavelec is just not gonna cut it) and possibly a coach.

Luckily a new owner would have tons of choices in goal, because the goalie market is so flooded. That is, if those goalies happen to not mind living in that city...

There has been so many rumors floating around today.

Spoke to an Atlanta Thrashers player via text message. He's been told to expect a major announcement regarding franchise relocation...

Chris Vivlamore quickly reassured fans by saying

    ajcthrashers
I have spoken with several #Thrashers players. None have been told the team is moving.

There are so many rumors going around it's crazy. There is supposed to be some breaking news sometime today.

If you read the full Greg Brady quote you'll see that the player only told him that he has been told "be ready for the team to move", not that they are moving. There can be a pretty big difference. So really Vivlamore's statement doesn't at all conflict with Brady's as far as I can tell. Very interesting to see what happens though.

What's Winnipeg's attendance like? Is it true they only averaged best at 13,694 in their playoff year?
