They made a bad decision with Burmistrov IMO. They should have let him dominate in junior for another year. 6 goals and 20 points will do nothing for his confidence in the NHL.

Also, I think they will definitely draft Strome or Couturier.

I kinda agree with ya about Burmi, I do think he should have kept in the OHL. But the Thrashers have been playing the young rookies right away for the past few years. We'll see how it pays off.

I would parade around the streets of Philadelphia if the Thrashers drafted Couturier. I doubt he falls.

I do honestly believe 30/30 is a possibility.

I'll be very happy when I hear that he re-signs... hopefully long term.

I'm not sure what you are thinking as far as long term, but I don't see it happening personally. You rarely see unproven guys or guys that aren't future stars (Kane, Toews, etc), getting long term deals these days, especially with the uncertain future of the CBA and uncertain Thrasher ownership doesn't help either. I think a one year would be better for the team to make him show he can sustain his presence and production throughout a season.

When I say long term I don't mean 15 years. I'm talking more in the 5 year range.

Yeah, not sure I see that happening, but you never know. Risk-reward I guess!

What are the chances one of either Larsson, Nugent-Hopkins, Couturier, or Landeskog fall to 6th?

Couturier maybe but Larsson, Nugent-Hopkins, and Landeskog will be gone.

Hey having Couturier on the team will make him a big star in Quebec City.

The chances of Couturier going 6th are massive. He should be there I would believe. Who knows though.

If RNH, Landeskog, and Larsson are all gone after the first 3 picks, I'd probably hope for one of these three: Couturier, Huberdeau, Strome... in that order. Thrashers need a center.

If Couturier is there 6th, I wouldn't hesitate to take him.

Of course a team with a ton of Stanley Cups, fans, an established franchise, among other things, would win the lottery. :Sarcasm:

There goes our chances for Couturier. Gotta go for Huberdeau or Strome now.

Huberdeau will probably be drafted before Couturier. He has shot up the rankings and is 4th on McKenzie's rankings now (done by scouts voting). New Jersey may change everything, though.

I'm thinking the Thrash will get Strome or Couturier, whoever the Sens don't pick Obviously things can change come draft day though. Some d-men available to be picked too by they Top 5 teams.

There is a good chance NJ drafts Ryan Murphy before Couturier, if he's available. They badly need an offensive d-man.
