Just wondering how the "Save the Thrashers!" parade went in Atlanta?

When the Jets were leaving Winnipeg it was 25,000 ppl.

    Depends.

    1) I don't think there was a parade today.
    2) If the bandwagon fans in the city showed up, than I'd say at least 20,000.

No bandwagons in the Peg. 15 yrs later they are still screaming their lungs out.

What is this parade you speak of? Are you talking about the rally? I don't live in Atlanta so I don't know everything that goes down, but from what my friends on facebook are saying, there is supposedly some rally tomorrow afternoon.

I am sure it will be front page news and make the lead-in on the sports report...

    Arrow Ticket SOLD

    http://www.winnipegsun.com/2011/05/2...g-rubber-stamp

“I’ve been told the Thrashers are still selling season tickets — with at least one being sold Friday,” Vivlamore wrote on his Twitter feed.
They sold a season ticket yesterday!!!!!!!!!

What do those go for? $50?

“There’s definitely things that would be really cool about it,” goaltender Chris Mason told The Canadian Press. “Playing in Canada, for me, it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. It would be really cool.

Just playing in front of a packed house every night would be awesome.
Hmmm - yep, I bet 15K rabid hockey fans would be better than 5,000 ppl - 4,983 of which have no idea what they are watching...

Chris Mason doesn't play though. I wonder if he always wanted to ride the pine in Canada?

NHL Deputy Commish Bill Daly "Media was wrong on all counts" on recent reports on re-location of Atlanta Thrashers.

I'm sure even the pine is more exciting with 3 times the fans, who know the game inside out to boot.

Anythingand everything would be more exciting with ownership and management that cares. Even I have some excitement burried deep inside of me knowing that the team would achieve great things with those new owners in Winnipeg. Management is already in place with Rick Dudley.

Apparently only 200 people showed up for the rally in Atlanta. Over 35,000 reportedly attended the Save the Jets rally in 1995. Even if that number was exaggerated 2-to-1 and the actual Atlanta rally had been double the 200... well, I haven't been a proponent of moving franchises, but that's telling.
