We have Winnipeg fans here, right? I'll need some advice when the time comes because as of now everything is still probably undecided. Like who is the Chris Vivlamore of Winnipeg so I can stay up to date with breaking news.

I wonder who the announcers will be for what ever station they are on. Anyone is better than Thrashers PBP Matt Mcconnell. I'll miss Darren Eliot though, he was a superb analyst. I wonder if there is any chance Winnipeg takes him as the television analyst.

As far as time differential goes, it's only a one hour difference from where I live. I'll have to get used to 8pm starts instead of 7pm. It's going to be weird with them playing in the Southeast division this season.

My guess is they will be on one of the Sportsnet western stations. If I recall they have "Sportsnet Central" so that would be a logical station given their geographic location. In the first year I expect to see TSN and CBC cover many games to milk out the obvious interest that Canadians will have in the new Winnipeg team.

The first player to score a goal in Thrashers history was Kelly Buchberger. The last player, Tim Stapleton.

I was just thinking about some of my all time favorites to put on a Thrashers uniform. It's crazy when you think about Recchi and Chelios playing for the Thrashers at one point. Recchi actually being very productive here during his stint. I think Mellanby was the best captain the franchise had. Take nothing away from Holik, Ferraro, Staios.
My all time favorite Thrashers players
    1) Ilya Kovalchuk
    2) Dany Heatley
    3) Kari Lehtonen
    4) Johan "The Moose" Hedberg
    5) Slava Kozlov

Kozlov was always a very underrated player throughout his career. He, Kovalchuk, and Hossa had monster seasons in 07.

I'm loving that concept. Would become one of my favorite logo's and jersey. I already loved the old Jets stuff, and this would be cool as well. Hope they get something good unlike the lame Wild ones. Who's name I still hate.

I guess we could officially close/lock this thread now.

It was a good run, Thrashers. You were taken away from the NHL too early. Thanks for the great memories. It was a pleasure supporting hockey in Atlanta.

Don't lock it up! Just change the name to Winnipeg. I hope you continue with coverage.

GM was going to lock the thread, and I was going to start from scratch. It doesn't really matter to me, I just thought it would have been more proper to lock the thread and start over.

But yea, I'm definitely going to continue covering the team.

Let Atlanta rest with Atlanta. A fresh start needs a fresh thread.

Like mentioned via PM, you have done a great job with your coverage ASF.

Glad to see you wanting to stay on board!
