I was once in a league where picks in rounds 1-3 got paid $x amount...picks in rounds 4-9 got paid less than "x"...rounds 10-18 and so on and so on....And if you resign him its a set number like 3M (for example)/year on top of the original "x"...complicated at first...but its a great way to value the players in your league.....

I proposed something like that at one point. But it's pretty rough in a deep league where you have Crosby making the same amount as someone like Weber.
