Have to do better than Grubauer. That would be a sideways move. With their talent on D, they should be able to find someone. Lundqvist could be revitalized on a new team ala MA Fleury.

Giroux and Voracek were invisible the entire series. I think Giroux was a -12 or something...

The Flyers need to work on some things this offseason ...

1. Hextall, while very good at overlooking a draft, is a poor trader. He needs to step out of his comfort zone and make at least 1 "big" trade that is a win for the club.

2. Matt Read needs to go away as a UFA. As far as I'm concerned, this dude shouldn't even be able to get into the Wells Fargo with a ticket.

3. The Flyers need a legit stopgap until Carter Hart is ready in 2 years. Worst case, rush him, I mean it. The Flyers are in a tricky spot and can't waste 2 more years with Giroux / Jake on the roster.

4. Giroux needs a legit gut check. His cozy stats are worthless as long as he continues to play the perimeter and come up small when it matters. He better read every leadership and general of war book he can get his mitts on this summer.

5. A decision needs to be made about Wayne Simmonds, and this is not an easy one. This is a case where NHL managers are worth every penny they make - I won't even pretend to know the right answer here.

6. Sanheim needs to step up and hopefully play the way Provorov did in his first full season.

7. Radko Gudas needs to be shopped for a more civil and intelligent shutdown D.

8. With their two 1st rounders, the Flyers need to select BPA and forget about position. I don't care if the best two players are D. Get them.

9. In reference to ^, if Hextall could package both 1st rounders for a Top-10 stud who is dropping, he needs to go all in. If a Tkachuk, Wahlstrom, Smith are dropping, make a play.

10. In reference to ^ and #1 - Hextall needs to phone his BFF's in LA and see if Doughty is really available or if that talk is malarkey. If so, put together a legit package of prospects and picks. The Flyers have assets.

In addition to Couturier playing with a torn MCL, apparently Provorov was essentially playing one armed in game 6. He looked hurt, but wouldn't have guessed that hurt.

none of those UFA's move the needle - Ward either stays in Carolina or retires. can't see him going elsewhere.. They need to trade or wait for Hart IMO.
