This is the exact trade to cash in on. The Sedins are crazy good and have years left at this pace. Tavares is an unproven commodity and MDZ is a throw in who isn`t even on the big club anymore.
What do you guys think of this deal? I'd be giving up Tavares and Del Zotto and getting Daniel Sedin. Our league counts +/- and though Tavares is putting up points as of late, his +/- with the Isles is concerning. I don't see the Isles making him into a plus player in the next couple of years. It's a salary cap league and I also save a bit in cap room with this deal. With all the hype surrounding Tavares for so long I'm a little cautious on whether or not I should trade him. I'd like to hear your thoughts

Easy yes. CLASSIC example of proven for unproven.
JT's ultimate upside is 100-110 points, exactly where D. Sedin is at RIGHT NOW.
To many people seem to think the Sedins can only go downhill. I think they will keep this pace for at least three years and You shouldn't be looking to much farther than that anyway.
Get Sedin.

In the short term, the trade is Tavares for DSedin as Del Zotto was sent down to the minors.
From http://www.lohud.com/article/2011010...ign-Del-Zotto:
The struggling 20-year-old defenseman was assigned by the Rangers to the Connecticut Whale (AHL) Monday, and defenseman Ryan McDonagh was called up.
Tortorella said Del Zotto continued to make the same mistakes, forcing long passes, and that he needs to work on his "mind-set."
A move to the Whale (formerly the Hartford Wolf Pack), where he can try to get back his confidence and get his game in order, and log minutes instead of sitting out, might help.
